Level 1 hunter - in which reserve start to level up and earn money?
Hello,

im new player and im not sure in which reserve start my adventure to level up, earn money...

Hirschfelden Hunting Reserve or Layton Lake District reserve? Medved-Taiga will be probably last to explore.

Im unexperienced player, so any other low level tips are appreciated - perks, skills, items, what buy first, focus on....

Thank You for your opinion and help.

!!! NO spoilers please !!!

If new and inexperienced, I would go with Layton Lakes. The terrain is more visable, which in itself makes the game enjoyable. There is plenty of open spaces to shoot, which help lvl up.

Use poly tipped ammo, works better.
Refrain from using backpacks, they create more noise and are more visable, not something being inexperienced you want to deal with.
Skills that reduce noise are good
Get Jackrabbit caller
Antler rattler is not needed until you are in Hersfelden
Stick to Blacktail, Whitetail, and maybe Bear (good clean shot) with starter rifle.

I'm sure you will conflicting advise from other hunters, we each have our own ways.

Hirschfelden

Focus on small and medium animals first, big animals will be hard to kill for a beginner with a starter rifle.
Hirschfelden is ideal for that, except for Bison (south west).
Layton Lake has overall easier terrain to spot animals.
You can use a map guide for animals and good spots, or find out yourself.

The missions/quests whatever you want to call them that you get at the beginning offer pretty good rewards cash/experience wise so don't forget to do them.
And I agree with the other hunters who say that Layton Lake is probably the best area to start in.
Take it nice and slow, don't run all over the place and most of all enjoy your time in Call of the wild.
Good luck & happy hunting.

I also agree that Layton Lake is more forgiving for a hunter just starting out. I started at Hirschfelden, and the heavy forests and more rugged terrain definitely makes it harder when you're just learning to track and stalk.

One tip is that Coyotes (or Red Fox if you do decide to go to Hirschfelden) provide a very high money and XP compared to other game, but they are harder to spot and track.

Thank You guys, a lot of good info you provided here...

One more question, perks for ex. rifles 2/6 - it means that i can put only 6 perk points in this category or it is means 6 perks and each can be boosted to max? (same probably apply to skills section)

It means 6 perks and each can be boosted to max.

Layton is surely a more forgiving map, but roe deer, man...those guys will pretty much 100% come to you every time you call them and you're within range of one. And they will usually come like 10-15 feet away if you're crouched or prone. I think for like 1-2 levels, they're insanely easy--and they go down really easily with the starting 243 and the soft points. Of course, they're not in Layton. Once you have poly's, well placed shots will do you fine on blacktail and whitetail on Layton. I think Layton is a great choice, but maybe even better from like level 3 and up. Those roe deer are just such easy targets to pass up at the beginning. And you start out with their caller.

Edit: autocorrect is bean sometimes.

Level 7 now, about 10 bears shot down....

Is any disadvantage to run around with weapon ready ? Speed and tiredness seems same with/without weapon.

Is any penalty (more noise, slower move speed) to have weight 19 of 20kg instead of 5 of 20kg ? Looks like that no, until i wear backpack...

Am i right ?

Thank You for the answers and help guys.

No difference unless you wear a backpack as indicated.

in my opinion Europe is the easiest for a new user, it has so much open land and rolling hills

Layton lake has alot more brush and tighter trees and steep hills.
