(SOLVED!) Photograph a Fallow Deer...

Hello! I've been at this mission for like 4 hours. I've located a few Fallow Deer need zones but even if I sneak up on them and take lots of photos - NOTHING happens! Am I forever doomed to proceed with the story missions until this bug gets resolved?

I'm a LVL 4 hunter so I can't buy the Fallow Deer lure yet, and my guess is that: you're supposed to be able to finish the mission without it.



EDIT: I finally got this mission after been at it constantly for about 2-3 days now. I recently hit level 6 and then bought the antler rattler. I stalked down a fallow deer buck and took cover inside a bush. Then I lured him in with my rattler lure and he came to me one time, then got spooked and ran off a hundred meters. Then, after 1 minute I tried it again and he came back. This time I stood absolutely still and zoomed in with the camera and took a few shots, and as soon as the narrator started talking I realized I completed the mission! Then - I shot the deer and got some nice money and score! I wish you guys all the best with this mission, especially if you are a beginner, it takes time BUT with the rattler lure it helped me instantly!

i think you need a fallow deer with really high tropy rating, or the mission might be bugged somehow, for i faced the same problem. the best you can do atm is to skip this mission and try the other available missions until its fixed.

Thanks for answering. Yes I would like to try other missions, but the only one I can do is this one. I've been at this mission for over a day now basically, I might need to switch zones to USA instead of Europe, which is a shame since I wanted to finished one area before the other. OH WELL

This is definitely bugged - either that or the mission requires a diamond fallow. I played from 1 - 33 and I have several photos of "Gold" fallow deer with Trophy Ratings north of 160 I know this because when I would find a Fallow Male - I took is photo before shooting him. So my conclusion is that this is either bugged, or it requires a super rare "Diamond" Fallow.

Maybe. And if that's the case, I think it's a bad move to put such a high end mission so early (this is like the 3rd or 4th you get in the European zone). I have now switched to Pacific Northwest and starting out there. What I've heard is that there are plenty more of these missions in each country-zone so - I'm not looking forward to those! I do like the idea of taking photos at a specific wildlife, but if it's like this for as many people there seem to be at the moment, I think the best way for the developers were to be changing the missions entirely or just tone down the difficulty in capturing these animals.



I have been 10 meters from 2 does and one fallow deer buck and took about 15 shots in a sequence, and still could not proceed with the mission.

Both are the same deer - top is the trophy card showing his score - the second is the deer still "alive". As you can see from the trophy card I was standing just inside of 15 yards away at 14.09 yards.... I was close enough to spit on the deer... still wouldnt take the photo.

I have tried multiple time to get the pic of the trophy fallow deer; And have killed many gold high scoring fallow deer, that i have taken pics of, without any luck: It seems for me, at least, that the mission is bugged: I have over 300 hours in COTW and around 1000 hours on the classic: And have completed many, many missions: So would be nice if the devs could find the problem which affects some of us:

Indeed! Can't do any more of those story missions in europe :/ sucks

when i had a fallow deer walk up near me, i got as close as i could without spooking it, move slowly crouched with cover and stay in the bushes, i opened my camera and started clicking like mad, it took about 7 shots before she came on and said, oh wonderful, so and so will love this picture. blah blah blah... trick is once you zoom on the deer, take a ton of shots and hopefully one will be accepted.

Same for me. Had to take multiple camera shots in quick succession before the mission was finally accepted. I've stopped doing the missions altogether because they're so bugged.

yep its got to be a bug, I just took multiple photos of a 165 Fallow within 30 yrds of me, and by multiple I clicked so many times the game broke for a second. then nothing... then I shoot him and get my gold trophy
