Only time I prone is on rocks, animals seem to walk right past and not notice you.
Also I have tried prone animals and either
1 Grass is to dense so I lose orientation.
2 I cannot be bothered cause its too slow for me.
Im not bashing it, for some its rewarding im sure and worth trying it out, it's just not for me.
I was more thinking about being prone and crawl up to drinking / resting animals. But yeah, the no aim mode is probably more hurt than good.
Thanks for the answers
Free hunting hint: Go for buffalos with the biggest rifle and tipped ammo, follow them and shoot the heard down, one after the other. When one charges you, just strafe to the side, in fast running mode, the charging buffalo can't change direction on the last 50 meters, you won't get hit. Farely easy. You and a buffalo, on a free field - it has no chance hitting you. Unless you are trapped somewhere, or foolish enough to crouch or go prone.
Yeah, i use the 7mm and i find it rather boring running behind buffalos till you catch up and kill them.
I'd rather sneak up on resting places in the night with a bow and prey on the animals there.
