i'm trying to get that achievement. i would appreciate tips on how best get it. animal species? gun type? best location?

Mount Levithian, .338, moose!
Or mount Kraken. Look around with your binos from high ground to open places. There is also a skill to activate that helps a lot. Gauge the shot distance at 300m and shoot.

Calburn around where the road crosses the creek is good for long (400+) shots. Just find even a slightly elevated position. I've got 4 there now. 2 moose and 2 bull elk. All were taken with the 338, but I'm sure the 7mm would work too. Aim about a foot over their back with the 338.

it was at the northern ridge, east side near the boundary, i found a needzone with 2 moose and went up the mountain until i cant see them anymore, two shots one hit the spine.
