Yeah i guess i see your point. But in The Witcher 3, the animals don't look at you with watery, round eyes as you pull a trigger to end it's peaceful life. These animals have life in them. The animals and humanoids in TW3 are mere shadows of what life should be.

think of it this way, everytime you kill an animal in game, you basicly save a real animals life, because if you were doing this in real life you would kill an actual animal. :)
