mythical /legendary animals

Ive been playing this game pretty hard for awhile now i have yet to run into a mythical /legendary animal..What is the secret to finding these? thx for the help

Luck - thats all.

But you can skill the ability to see the fur type on the track. that could be helpfull to find it. But nevertheless i have not seen a single special type of fur since i leveled this skill, except the cinnamon and gold colored black bear, which are quite common.
There is also a skill which let you see the trophy rating and difficulty with the scope or binoculars, but therefore you must have found the animal already..

So however - luck is the "key"

They are really rare, just like the 5 - Medium ones.

I've killed a couple of legendarys myself over my 230+ hours played, but I've never seen a 5 - Medium.

I missed a shot on a white fox, it was level 6 hard. :(
I killed an albino moose. And I killed an mythical (9) coyote, but zero integrity shot it in his leg :S. But it is just really random.

And also the difficulty is not reflected in the rating system or just minor. So currently hunting them brings you nothing but an "wow" and a nice screenshot for the community.

Go into th4e hills of rotward theres 5-medium red deer everywhere 190-300 kgs

It's more than just luck. The legendaries are more easily scared. If you have not seen a single legendary or even a mythical in 147 hours then it simply has to be that they hear/see/smell you and run away before you even knew they were there. The trophy rating is more luck based, though.

I hear that mythical and/or legendary animals have set spawn locations. Is this true? Seems a little stupid who ever came up with that mechanic if that's the case as i feel like it would take away the achievement of getting one if everyone and their aunt can just go to the same point and bag one for themselves.

Go to the above location at the right time and find out. Lots of people have been there and seen for themselves.

The only mythical animal I found was a fox. 3x 100% bonus and only a silver trophy.

Mythical is 8. I plugged one with the shotgun. It went slowly.

Yes, the difficulty of the animal has nothing to do with fur type/antler size/skull size trophies that they carry.

Mythicals also dont give out warning calls and mating calls and even the callers can spook them had it on a mythical coyote use jack rabbit to call it and it spooked n moved away so i had to track it.

Yeah, the one I shot caught me by surprise. I am alwasy in a crouch and hidden. I turned and it was there, so I quickly plugged it.
