The holding breath mechanic

Why does my guy have the breath of a 2 year old. I track down a red fox, Lay prone while it sits there and my heart is COMPLETELY white and calm. I aim in and within 2 seconds my guy runs out of breath and I have to re-aim.

This is why the game has a perk and skill system, and increasing the time for breath holding is something you can acquire with levels. It might not be everyone's cup of tea and I'll admit some of the skills seem silly not to have from the very start, but I like the progression of making things like this better over time.

I know but still it should be at least 4 seconds. They should just increase weapon sway and have that be reduced in the skills/perk system.

Later on, if you decide to get the skill "Startle Call", you'll discover that you only have a few seconds to take the shot anyway before the animal will flee. IMO, if it takes you longer than 2 seconds to line up a shot, you shouldn't be shooting in the first place ... :P

the best shot is within 10 seconds, 2 seconds is a rush, your heartrate is still to high.

So crawling prone and then aiming in while I said that the heart symbol on the bottom is completely calm/white means that my heartrate is too high? Re-read my OP and respond propertly.

With many upgrades you get ~10 seconds of holding breath.
