How rare are albinos?

It all depends on your initial herd spawn. The same as with high scoring/mythical animals. Some may have them in their initial spawn and see them right away. Others may have a weak initial spawn and have to cut through the herd before one randomly comes up to repopulate.

I've gotten 3 albinos at 200-250 hours of playing. The first 2 were within 5 minutes of eachother on the same MP server. I've only found them on MP servers but I don't really play single player anymore. Good luck!

Back when I had that population bug and had to delete the population file I figured this out (and did it often for a while - especially when the Kraken spawn was nuts - which I think was justified after having gone nearly a month without seeing anything more than a whitetail doe). Each time I would go in after deleting, there were really different sets of spawns there. I'd have a spawn with far more high scoring tropies, a spawn with a few albino/piebald, and several not-so-special spawns. This is why, way back when, when someone pointed out the fact that a mythical red deer would spawn in a specific spot in a specific location, some people would see it while others would not. Their spawns were the same, while others were not.

I still delete that file now and again for that specific reason - and because I'm "gun shy" of the population bug - even though it's been fixed. ... ... ... ... Like massive blood trails, rest zones left in long trails by wounded animals, the freakes zipping from the Halloween event, bears flipping back and forth to the standing/walking positions, disappearing tents, and a lot of other things that were fixed but we still see.

i have seen one today it was a white tail deer and last time was the first day i played and there was one with brown spots so i dont think they are so rare i play now since a couple of days.

For me Albino's are about twice as common as diamonds.... so very uncommon as opposed to rare... at least at this stage of my maps' development. I think everyone sees a bit different results depending on their single player campaign progress, how many need zones they have activated, and whether or not they are in multiplayer.

Have harvested around 8 Albino's of various species but I think Leucistic of which I have harvested 2 Cape Buffalo's is rarer.
White hide but natural colored eyes not pink.

An albino trophy animal is worthy... but otherwise... they don't earn anymore coin then a standard animal. So rare or not... doesn't garner much of my interest.
But I'll choose an albino if it's only a herd of cows and I see one. Lol

IMO albinos are only really worth the effort if they're Bulls.

I likely have taken a hundred or so out of 6513 animals I've harvested.
So there's less of them no doubt.
IMO a rarer more valuable animal worth harvesting is a Diamond.

But then... I shoot most everything,,, Lots of Golds in my harvests.

I'd rather earn more money then shoot common rares.

Yep ...and after that newness wears out.... you likely won't care much either unless it's a Diamond or at least a Gold. Those still bring out a sense of accomplishment...

Long distance intant kills are always a joy as well.

But you got it right... enjoy what's in this game... and experience everything you can in it !
