Hello, according to quest text i should harvest (at night) a whitetail or blacktail deer in the area. Even after harvesting 5 or so blacktails around the lake (never saw a white tail around there) i still get not update for the quest.

Is this a bug or maybe i am missing something?

Thanks!

"harvest whitetail at night" yet in proximity of the lake there are no white tail's , there is 1 needzone in it for them , yet it ends about when the night ends and my 3 night tries of having "any animals even be around the lake at all" got just of me sitting there and doing nothing with no sucess

meanwhile lake to the south got like 8 need zones around it:| (balmont)

They change need zones

Spend some time hunting the balmont need zones then go back.

If you hunt in area with need and rest zones the pressure from hunting will force them to another need or rest area and they can be a fair distance away

Its strange a lot of the deer stay in herds in these areas

Another tactic is to "push" the white tail into the lake area using your posture (standing up) when the animal is between you and the lake. But that can be a PITA and it isn't a fool proof tactic ... :/

EDIT : .... If the drinking zone at the lake belongs to another species (blacktail), then kill the blacktail to remove the zone and hopefully the whitetail will populate (or replace) the blacktail's zone. (like others have mentioned).

i finished today and they pass on that zone.
If you not have patience and you want to finish each mision in 2 minuts beter not play this game.

Indeed, it's a matter of time and patience. I have many uncompleted missions (well usually 2 or 3) and if I happen to be in the area then I'll have a "go" at it but it's no big deal (for me) if the conditions aren't there to complete it.

"Time" is our friend ... for most of us at least.

In a zone yes ... I have seen 2 in a feeding zone. If you shoot everything on sight, chances are they were proceeding to a zone (perhaps) and the more you kill them the less animals in the zone when you get there.

EDIT ... But no, I haven't seen more than 2 ... :(
EDIT 2 ... Coyote, on the other hand, I've seen 4 in a zone and wish I had a grenade.

Is it possible to complete that mission in Layton Lake? Near this lake there isn't any sleep/eat/drink area for that deers :/
if it says layton lake that's where is has to be completed as I know I killed a whitetail in balmont at 150+M's and it refused to accept that as it had to be in Balmont Lake.

Are you sure you are in the rightr area? Layton Lake is the whole reserve, not a place on the map. But if you open your map and scroll, the area you need to be in will highlight.
