game makes my computer run at 82c at high and low settings

specs:
intel i7-4790k 4.0ghz 8core
gtx 1070
16gb ram
win 10

no stutters or fps drop, smooth 60fps but my gpu runs at a constant 82c no higher or lower when i play this game, any known reason?

EDIT: i made it so that my gpu will not go any higher than 75c and now its capping out at 74c with again no fps drops or stuttering and smooth 60fps, i feel like something in the game is doing this.

a fix for me, set max temp. to a lower degree that you would be ok with, 60c works for me. This shouldnt work but it does, and has 0 effects to this game.

you can also use msi afterburner for over/under clocking your gpu, setting fan curves, and max temp./power usage. Its also a really good monitor of your gpu/cpu temp and usage.

Re-reading the initial post setting your fan curves is what you need to do, deff dont need to go down the liquid cool route for a gpu. I get more concerned if a game doesent start spooling up my fans because i know its not using the gpu to its full advantage.

Hi hunters, same issue with my GTX 1080, is it a problem with specific cards of 10th series, drivers or else? please suggest a solution how to make temp lower
all other games run without problems even on ultra settngs, exept Project CARS - it also overheats GPU

parameters:
before game starts - 36-40 C
on low settings - 70 C
on ultra - 78-80 C

no, I don't set them manually, I ssumed it should work automatically. Can I change something within a game without manually setting my hardware?

i truly believe that this game is eating more power then is needed.

Afterburner and precision x are about the same thing really. Its something that needs to be changed by your driver software really, not in game, other than turning down your graphics settings (which i wouldnt recommend your gpu had beyyer potential.

By default even the gpus sold as OC'd units wont reach max speed and stay there without turning your fans up. Its pretty easy, i have mine set so that the fans hit 100% at about 70 degrees and hardly get any thermal throttling running 3 screens. Be careful though: Afterburner is great to manage temperature and power consumption but setting a value lower than default you're essentially capping your GPU power, so even if it works I'd only consider it a temporary fix.

To really solve the problem I'd thoroughly check the PC: first thing I'd clean everything, then I'd check the thermal paste if the CPU is overheathing and the fans to make sure they can still operate at 100% speed; I'd then try to improve the cable management for better air flow. If everything else failed I'd consider installing better/more fans, even a liquid cooling system if overclocking

It happens only sometimes with games such as The Hunter, it runs temp to the higest limit and I don't know why that happens (yes, everything is ultra, but I played games with better graphics and temp wasn't higher 80 C. It was high, but lower than 70 C). I assume that this game is not optimized well for 10th gen of GPU. MSI Afterburner fixed this and decreased temp to 60-61 C, what pitfalls you see here?

i would suggest that, unless you like a cooled pc and are ok with lower settings in games, only lower max gpu temp. for this game and revert when not playing this game. However i use a 1070 and capping my temp at 70c has 0 effects on all the games ive played so far (escape from tarkov and GR wildlands being the heaviest hitters) if you use a 1070 or higher, i wouldnt worry to much about the side effects of capping temp. to 70c

i would suggest that, unless you like a cooled pc and are ok with lower settings in games, only lower max gpu temp. for this game and revert when not playing this game. It depends on the area of the map you're in. Usually you won't really notice it but if you're in a dense forest you'll probably have a bigger FPS drop than usual since you're forcing your GPU not to use all its power. I had a failing PSU and had to lower the power consumption to around 60%: the average FPS was about the same but I experienced drop to around 30 FPS where before I've never went below 40/45

I also have higher temperature with The Hunter compared to other games (GTA 5, even Ark S.E.) but I've noticed that The Hunter is actually better at squeezing all my GPU's power, where other games never go over 80/85% usage, so that could be the reason
