Weather
This issue was the same with Classic - it's like one out of every 100 storms does it last longer than 5 mins. Can we get some all day weather? Or even half day? It's ridiculous how the rain starts and then stops again 2-5 mins later, repeat.

The mist and fog etc, are great. Just need the storms to last longer when they show up.

I bought a hunting game, not a hurricane simulator. If you like rain so much go outside and play in it. There is already to much in game, and it is insane how loud, both wind and rain is. Not a damn thing is enjoyable about that much noise in a hunting game.

No. I love the storms, I love the rain - but only for 5 minutes at a time. If anything it should be a passing storm and then nothing. That's actually more accurate for storms. Rain by itself maybe longer but they need to sort the volume out first - it should be ambient, not in-ya-face.

Audio clues are integral to some species and it's not going to be even remotely enjoyable if I can't hear anything for hours with volume on 3 after spending 2 hours setting up a hunt.

You guys are complaining about the noise level - that's a whole different issue.

You miss the entire point of my post, that's exactly the issue - there's too much, because it comes for 3 min intervals, goes away, and then is back again. There is no constant.

You also, hurricane simulator, can go to an outpost and rest, and skip past it. Again, here is the problem, because it's not a day full of rain, it's all over the damn place.

Plus, the game has perks built around weather, which makes ZERO sense with how it currently functions.

Agreed. The weather looks like it has been coded by a Dutchman; it changes too frequent and too fast.

Errr... In my neck of the woods that's what storms do. I even said "rain" versus storms would work but it needs to remain as "ambient" rain. I totally agree sound level is a seperate issue but it's also a visibility issue and having visibility knocked for hours would be a PITA.

Yep. I prefer LR so I have visibility bias here. As I do in RL, I simply don't go shooting when it's raining heavily and I defintely don't when there's storms. :steamhappy:

When the weather shifts with in a few minuter you can use water for your advantage in the game

Dear EW and AS, please pick up on this issue. The weather changes are to frequent, rain is much too noisy, in actual sound output, relative to other ‘relevant’ noises in the game. Also, rain should allow me to cover my movement noises (e.g. reduce the bars somewhat).
I could live with half a day of rain, when thereafter I would get a couple of dry days (be it sunny or cast over). That said, I enjoy your efforts a lot and am hoping for support on this matter! Kindly yours, ltdlima83.

Can't agree with the OP more. The weather changes are beautiful, and the effects are superb, but why does the weather have to change every 5 minutes? It's just breaking the immersion for me as well. I'd be happy for a few drizzly or heavy rain days in a row, followed by a week of sunny weather. The storms could still come and go as they do now, but let them last for 20 minutes or so.

The weather is sometimes insane.

I started this weekend with my Lets Plays and 70% of the time is raining and storming. The noise is extrem. Playing on Hirschfelden. I really enjoy a good thunderstorm and sometimes the strong with together with the rain lets me shiver in real life but it's just way too often.

My opnion in this matter is that the intermittency of rain events is annoying. You have skills that depend on the behavior of the weather, such as being harder to hear and see in the rain, yet the conditions are so fleeting as to not be able to make use of them.

In my opinion, rain events that last 30 to 45 real time minutes would be more agreeable. Maybe not 'all day', but certainly not 2 minutes of sprinkles, a 30 second downpour, 2 more minutes of on off sprinkles, and a parting thunderclap.

Granted, what would be REALLY nice in the weather system is to actually have a logical map of a weather pattern that crawls across the reserve. Where you can see a storm cell dumping rain in the northwest corner, and you've got clear or overcast near you. But I wouldn't expect a complex sub-simulation like that for a game like this.

But I can definitely see increasing the event times for things like fog, rain, overcast, storms, etc. Those can probably be plugged into a table and altered. Heck, an option to tweak them would be nice. Smooth out player arguments on it too.
