Hunters please explain Ethical Hunting

I understand how it is not ethical to shoot a moose 11 times with a 223. Because the gun is too small and the moose will suffer.

But why is it not ethical to shoot a Coyote with a 7mm or 30-30. Don't they die quick and painlessly this way?

Its more about the mess you make.
And if you still miss vital organs getting torn apart is rather painful and just leaves the animal no chance of survival if you mess up a clean shot.

Also dont shoot heads as their brains are tiny and if you miss youll just end up in an situation where it would most likely starve to death

But most of the time it means dont shoot with an too small calibre anyways

regarding the moose the game is one sided, hence it rewards you for not using the biggest gun in your arsenal (wich would be required for moose gamewise because there is only one class4) but instead using the appropriate tool not to waste the venision/meat and just blast the moose to smithereens...

regarding coyote and foxes this is still a game decision, Yotes and foxes are in very many places of the world considered Pests and there for subject of pest controll you usually use what caliber works best for them an there are no regulations...BUT you dont want to everytime clear you mess when blasting a yote with 50 BMG (extrem example...year i know in texas they use 50 BMG for Hogs...)

so as a RL Hunter you always have to make a decision about how mutch meat you wanna get destroyed by the bullet and how big of a caliber you can use to make a quick humane kill and this the Hunter Classic/and CotW try to emulate with the Ethic points value
