Bleet rate: very low - will the animal eventually die?
I tracked an animal for more than 150 tracks after hitting it with a very low bleed rate (yes it was a bad shot from 200 yards away),
but it seems like i am tracking it forever, after about more than 150 tracks i followed, and my PDA had a massive hit on FPS whenever it was used (due to so many points marked on it, some memory leak there...) i gave up...
do animals 100% die of bleeding?
even if the bleed rate is very low, as long as its persistent (and it was, along these 150+ tracks and blood spots), i would imagine even that animal will die eventually? seems like it wasnt the case... any different experiences?

It should always die. Obviously the rate will dictate exactly how fast.
Additionally, it depends on the animal. A fox is going to bleed out faster than a Moose (which are terminators sent back in time to force you to track a badly shot one for an hour).

Thanks! good to know :) guess i should've kept at it, but it was so long it almost started feeling like its a bug or something... the animal was back tracking back to where i started and did a full trip again for 3 times, it was a loooong track session... i gave up.

I wouldn't put it past being a bug, to be honest. There's a few of them at the moment ;)

I've had bleed rates at very low, but the animal still dies 100 feet away. I've also had medium bleed rates, but the animal makes it a quarter of a mile before dying. Keep at it.

I also tracked a whitetail (very low bleed rate) for well over 1 hour
eventually the tracks were so messed all in circles and all impossible to continue.
This one also seemed to never die.

I found a moose i had shot hours earlier, i had given up no finding him, he was out in a field, limping was not using his front leg, hit his shoulder when going for the heart. so low bleeds do not always kill.

Some are definitely bugged. I tracked a bad shot forever last night.. 1 min it was in the 50-75.. 2 min 25-50... 3 min 0-25... Then 10+ min more before I gave up. It wasn't even leaving footprints anymore just a trail of huge puddles lf blood... Never found the bastard.

Are Mooses harder to kill than Bisons? I put like 5 shots into a bison, chased him for like an hour, fortunately he got stuck and I managed to put a few more rounds into him before finally getting the final blow with an arrow ._.

I just shot female Red Fox and got awarded with negative score. She died almost immediately. Did I something wrong? I must say I am a newbie into this "hunter series" games, I simply love the atmosphere.

That's a bug that's said to be fixed in the 1.1 patch...

I've found low blood rates dead in 50 feet, and i've tracked medium bleed rates for miles...The game does what it wants

It also depends on what rifle you used for what animal to be exact! If the rifle was an 243 and the animal a moose it will not die of bleed cause the rifle was too low for that parcicular animal. If the rifle fits the animal it should of course die.

I haven't found this to be true.. I downed a bunch of bison and mokse with the starter gun. They last longer obviously but they eventually die. The bugged white tail I had last night just would not die, it painted the map red and never died. Bugged for sure..
