Bear Hunting Tutorial
Hey Guys, just wanted to offer my advice on how to hunt bear in the $30.00 beta version of this game.

Step 1. launch game
Step 2. walk for 10 seconds
step 3. hear bear roar
step 4. run towards noise full speed ahead
step 5. spot bear, aim and shoot multiple times.

BOOM! bear hunting on The Hunter Call of the Wild.

ps. does anyone know why way points don't show up on the hunter mate until you are within 110 yards of the pre set map way point?

lol yea, Killed 2 bears within 5 minutes of game start. Turn right, head to water, see 2 bears, shoot them both dead. Played for another hour, havent played since. Hoping to see some major patches soon. Mainly hoping to see a bind for keyboard and mouse players so they can walk as silently as controller players.

im not a big computer gamer. i have xbox one and bought a computer SPECIFICALLY for this game. im considering gettting a controller but dont know if its worth it.

seems easier to be quiet with a controller but i cant aim with it so meh...and at the beginning it throws animals at you i think

The controller debate is way overblown. I have both and only use the keyboard, if you know what you are doing, it makes no difference. Plus, everything else using the controller sucks.

Depend on what map you play, regarding how fast you find the bear :)

I use the controller to sneak up on an animal for bow hunting. but as soon as I'm close enough I go back to keyboard and mouse to take it down.

Yes you must purchase the bow just as you would all other equipment.

Best way to hunt a bear is wait for it to stand up with its paws in the "don't shoot me" pose. Then hit it between its top legs. Now that is a sweet shot.

I just got one like that. Broke the spine & hit left lung. Dropped it immediately.

Try this area. Bear are pretty thick right outside of that outpost and in the red areas. (Try early morning)

I tried a controller early on and I didn't really like it. The main problem was having to scroll left and right through your equipment all the time. If the caller you want is at the other end you have to scroll through everything else to get there. I think for a controller to really work we would need a 'gear wheel' so we can flick quickly between different stuff.

Maybe they will add that later. I won't be using a controller otherwise.

KaiEr is right about those locations he posted above. Also, Xi Law posted excellent location maps in the Guides section which were very helpful to me when I first started.
