Immortal moose ?

I aim for their lungs with my trusty .270 and I hit but they never die Im just giving up on moose currently I can 1 shot bears and white and black tail deer but moose are unstopable forces of nature any tips or has this happened to anyone else ?

I try to hit it twice qst shot is always precise but second could hit anywhere since its moving

I've dropped a couple Moose and i don't even know where i'm aiming, normally just somewhere on their side behind their front legs and they drop after a few hundred meters.

They can be killed. I've taken a cow and a bull with the .243 starter rifle. It probably helped that the shots were taken at close range (less than 20 meters as I recall). To be fair, the bull got stuck in terrain and was doing the run animation for a while. Otherwise I'd have been tracking him down for a considerable distance. The cow dropped quickly.

I doubt that I'll try to take any more bull moose until I have a more suitable weapon with more penetration power.

I generlly take my shots at 100m but im using the 270 rifle not the 243 so i thought tht would compensate

Hmm, I wonder if energy loss at longer range is part if the ballistic physics. Even if it isn't, the .270 probably isn't ideal for moose. Not much of an upgrade from the .243. And even at close range, I only penetrated one lung on the bull.

Did you actually end up getting lung blood and/or a decent blood loss rate with a 100 meter shot?

I suppose you could also try for a brain or spine shot, though that is a bit more challenging at long range.

243 buy the $300 ploy tip shells helps alot and shoot behind the shoulder close range :)

I do get blood and vital wound
but i never find the corpse or i spot the same mouse and shoot it agian and it doenst die

Me and my friend was like 40m from a moose and we pumped out 5-6shoots and it did not die. We tried to hunt it down for 1hour and we gave up.
Hitbox is really buggy or the netcode is really bad or something

taking down bison with a 270 is rough aswell, i usually only hit one lung if im lucky, and then they charge my ass

same i normally pump like 2-3 shots and nothing
