I can kill everything with the free .243..
Why bother buying any of the other weapons? I took down a moose, elk, bears...havent run into bison yet but I'm a bit dissapointed. Plus the custom .270 you get for having a classic TheHunter subscription...psh you still gotta pay 20k in game for it, it was only unlocked.

So many other complaints, I really had hoped more of the issues from beta would have been addressed but no...need time to clear my thoughts im frustrated. I realize it's day one and there will be a lot of things they will hopfully realize they messed up on. I'll give it some time.

You can kill everything that's currently ingame with a .243 in real life also... Why would you want the game to be any different? The .243 requires a very, very good shot on something like a moose both in real life and also in this game. I'm not seeing how this is an issue.

Why bother with other weapons? 1) Variety, I've bought weapons on THC that filled roles I already had filled simply because I like them and

2) The real reason, a .270, .300, or .308 is going to take down a moose much more effectively than a .243.

Yes but there is the ethical factor, in classic I liked how you were required to use the weapons considered more ethical. Yes i'll probably buy other ones but I guess with the different pay model they had to have some way of allowing you to shoot everything from the start.

You could use unethical weapons in the classic as well. While in classic it gave you disqualified score, here it will affect the integrity, which affects the score.

I like it this way. Good point on the differences in pay model. They only had two other options, either make guns unlockable MUCH faster(which I wouldn't like, you'd run out of new content way too fast) or keep a good chunk of the animals unhuntable until you are many, many hours into the game.

Giving you a score penalty is a good solution as it still allows you to hunt whatever you feel like(for a minor cost in points) but still allows them to stretch the content out and give you fresh gear to look forward to over time.

ethic system in thehunter was made for only one reason - you should buy a lot of weapons for hunting different species. nothing more. here we have gameplay without artificial restrictions.
