What exactly is ELO rating?

On here there is a ELO rating and I can guys over 1200 no problem but at chess.com I have trouble with 800 lol, what is the difference?

I do not know the elo rating. My rating at the club (has been arround 1640-1660 DWZ not ELO) and i am feeling like that..but i can push my self in a good day to 2000 and if i am tired to 1200 elo/dwz. I won at all level without help. i am playing almost at level scholar and it is almost easy to win..if i am not tired..but i am.
It is nice to have a programm which is playing strong..but in a way you can learn from it.
There are Chess programms for smartphones which are strong enough for me. Can i remember them ? hmm Chess live ? (can not win at the last level) and a App called "Schach" (can not win at the last level) which is in 3d. Shredder with 2600 elo at my smartphone is not feeling very strong. Fritz and Shredder at pc is strong. With Shredder i had the feeling..i can understanding it and may be trying it in a same way (with people) but the style was dry and with fritz i could not follow the brain that far so that i can not try the same way but the talking level at high has been a good help for me to become a better player.

ya, because I'm not 1300 yet I am showing as 1300 lol. I cannot beat a rated 1300 player over at chess.com

In the instance that ELO IS calculated similarly in this game compared to real chess (i don't think it is), it is because any given ELO rating is relative to the community in which it is expressed. Better players in the community to which the system is applied would make higher ratings relatively more difficult to obtain and vice versa.

pretty sure its just chess rank.
reminder to set a timer and host your own match. some players are just plain sad. they care about it so much they will go afk, not make a move at all for months and attempt to make you forfeit and give them the win
