Introducing Cross-play with Epic Games

We’re pleased to announce that additional cross-play features for Chess Ultra have arrived in a new update!

Chess Ultra players on Steam can now play seamlessly with friends on Epic Games. You can also choose which friends list to play with and, for multiplayer matchmaking, you’ll find a larger pool of players to connect with across both Steam and Epic Games.

This update also includes performance and optimisation improvements, as well as a fix for a recently reported issue that was impacting players with Intel 11th Gen (and up) CPUs running Windows 11.

Please note: as a result of the update, there may be some downtime for Chess Ultra’s online multiplayer until around 8 PM GMT today.

Broken Game is BROKEN!!!

There was a problem communicating with the server and your game couldnt be downloaded. Please check your connection and try again.

Note: AT&T Fiber @ 1 GIG speed

I GUARENTEE it's NOT my connection!!!

Same here but for multiplayer connexion from Epic. No real options menu to see what's going on, no solution anywhere on web, I'm juste stuck to play solo. Nice launch dudes.

Looks like my stats were reset after the update, I won't be playing this game until it is fixed.

Online play for Chess Ultra on EpicGames doesn't even work. Still not fixed. That means no Tournament, no Leaderboard, no Single Play Online Opponent. They all barf out some form of "Connection Error".

Sorry, it's still not working for me. Exactly the same connectivity issue continues. This is Chess Ultra from EpicGames btw.

Your game looks so cool! But I cannot play it on Epic games still having issues trying to connect to the Tournaments section in the menu. Everything else works great though.

It seems Chess Ultra online play works on Steam but not Epic Games. From asking around both Steam and EpicGames has the same version 1.44 so it looks like the same game client for both.

Does anyone mind sharing the full command line arguments used to run `Chess2-Win64-Shipping.exe` when it's running with Steam? You can use something like Process Explorer from sysinternals from Microsoft.

This could help give a clue for getting Epic Games version working.

Hey, i have the game on epic but no matter what i do i cant connect online to the servers all i get is connection error? iv looked all over and cant find any help for this can anyone help?

Online play on Epic still broken, plus the Epic version of this game is complete crap (can't resume single player games) - developers are a bunch of clowns.
