Can't hear dialogs and GeForce doesn't recognise the game.
- What are your system specifications? (CPU, RAM, GPU, Windows OS version)
- Where does the issue occur and what did you do immediately before the issue occurred?
- Are you able to re-produce the issue consistently or is it a one off?
The issue appears everywhere. I have reinstalled Just Cause 4 after I cleaned my whole PC (before the patch). I started Just Cause 4 (after the patch) and changed the graphics to maximum, increased the camera sesitivity and equipped the Renegade Wingsuit and Parachute and also the Just Cause 3 Rico skin. After that I started a new game.
This is where I noticed the bug the first time. I all the cutscenes and gameplay dialogs I can't hear their voices. All the other sounds are fine and the subtitles do appear. I have tried closing the game and set the settings via GeForce Experience, but it only says that I have to start the game once to optimise the game. I tried that a few times.
Yes I can recreated this bug. Actually I don't know how to get rid of it. :D
I hope that helps.
It seems that now the No Sound has spread to my other games as well. All of my games except for Fallout and Skyrim has no sound. (Maybe Bethesda is trying to get me to only play their games lmao). I would LOVE to keep playing Just Cause 4 BUT with the major cutscenes relating to Project Illapa, theres no subtitles and I can't get them to appear. They appear for literally everything else though. So it really puts a damper on the game not having subtitles.
What is the output chain of hardware for your sound? For example, headphones plugged in directly to the headphone port or line out port on your PC vs. HDMI cable from PC to receiver to a 5.1 surround sound system.
What is the Windows sound setting set to? Example: stereo 2 channel or 5.1 etc.
Thanks again!
Windows recognise them as speakers but they work fine.
I don't really know what you mean with windows settings so I just give you a bunch of them:
Sound Cards
- NVIDIA High Definition Audio
- High Definition Audio-Device
- NVIDIA Virtual Audio Device (Wave Extensible) (WDM)
Playback Devices
- 22MP55 (NVIDIA High Definition Audio)
- Digitalaudio (S/PDIF) (High Definition Audio-Device)
- Speaker (High Definition Audio-Device) (default)
Recording Device
- Mikrophone (High Definition Audio-Device)
With my luck I probably gave you all the information, but the ones you need.
Here is my audio:

Left plug: Microphone
Right plug: Headphone
Both lead directly to my headset.
Also minor update to my bug.
Dialog sounds are also not appearing in existing saves.
GeForce experience does recognise Just Cause 4 now and I can adjust settings, but still no dialog sound.
Also it might spread to other games. I have sound troubles in Enter The Gungeon, but I don't know if they came before or after the Just Cause 4 patch.
I still don't have any type of sound coming from my system after the patch. I deleted and reinstalled the game thinking maybe I did something to corrupt the files but still no avail.
In Enter the Gungeon the weapon sound are really weird, sometimes quiter sometimes completly gone, in Generation Zero the reloading sound is also extreamly quiet or not there at all, depends on the weapon and in Elite Dangerous I can't hear dialogs as well.
That's really weird.
