Game crashes a lot for me too. Updated my drivers as well. I think we're in the minority though as there aren't a lot of threads regarding this issue.

You're lucky, I crashed literally 2 seconds after I clicked play on the game, and about 2 minutes the second time.

Don't feed the trolls.

I am also getting a lot of crashing. I managed to have a couple of decent sessions (playing for 2+ hours with no crashes) but mostly I get a crash every 20 to 30 minutes. I've tried reinstalling drivers after purging them with DDU, adjusting graphics settings and running as admin. The admin method seems to possibly help but I'm not 100% sure and it's certainly not fool proof.

There is no way in hell I am underclocking my GPU.

Look at his specs you dope. His computer is not a potatoe. I own 200 games (Not all of them are on steam) Two of them crash a lot and this game is one of those two.

Core I5 6600K @ 4.4GHz (I just tested the game without the overclock and it crashes still)
16GB DDR3 1866MHz ram
GTX1070
Corsair 1000Watt Powersupply
Yeah DirextX3D Code 34, basically you go into the nvidia control panel and set JC4s power mamagement to high. Doesnt really work tho because im still crashing :)

The second issue iv run into is when it crashed it wont actually close the game. Steam still says its running and when you manually attempt to close it through the task manager it says cant close, Access is denied......

Iv stopped even trying to play through the crashes as you need to manually turn the pc off after each crash. SSD for a 12sec boot time helps but its still annoying. Best just wait for patches.

Every one that has chashs after 10 mins of gameplay seems to be run on old 4c/4t cpu i5 systems.
TimMy Dec 7, 2018 @ 3:34am
Crashes here as well.
Latest drivers for display card made also the Hitman 2 buggy. Installing the previous Nvidia drivers fixed the Hitman 2 and made JC4 plays longer, but it still crashes after max 15 min of play.
Please help. I am enjoying the game so far.

Specs:
I5-6600K
RAM 16 GB
Nvidia 1070
64bit Win 10
Nothing overclocked

looks like we found the similar clue, i5 systems....
but dood, my rig can handle far more than this game, i mean, what do we miss ?

Yeah I5-6600k here aswell. Sometimes it runs for a good hour but then other times not then it will randomly crash just as it gets to the main menu or fail to terminate the game when it does crash and its just a mess atm, wait to see what can be done with patches or upgrade from the I5 i guess.

Processor bottleneck tho, iv been using an I5 for ages with the 980ti and had no issues but these days games rely or use the processor far more than games used too which is good but at the same time it kicks the only I5's out the door lol.

FWIW, I'm getting crashes after a few minutes as well, and I'm on an i5-6600K, 16GB, GTX 1070.

there u go, another i5 to the club, i think theres nothing we can do now, just wait until devs release a patch update, but would be soooo much appreciated if anyone have a temp work around to fix this, been wanting to play this game since eons ago.

Direct3D Error Code :34

Players are reporting they are encountering Direct3D Error Code: 34 DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error while playing Just Cause 4. Here are a couple of things you can do to fix this problem.

First, open Nvidia Control Panel and select “Manage 3D Settings” and then select “Program Settings”. Select Just Cause 4 from the drop-down list and set “Power Management” to “Adaptive”. This will potentially resolve the Direct3D Error Code: 34 DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error for you.

Also, update your GPU drivers to the latest version or at least use the Game Ready Driver for Just Cause 4.

If this doesn’t work for you then the problem might be with your GPU. If you have overclocked the GPU or factory overclocked GPU then revert the GPU’s clock speed back to its base clock speed. This will resolve the DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error for you while playing the Just Cause 4.
