Game won't start
I downloaded Just Cause 4, and am now trying to play it. Whenever i press play/start in my steam library, it displays the starting window, but then it just goes away and doesn't start the game. What can i do?

The game is a mess. Even on my system the game will start, go fullscreen then minimise to the system tray. I then have to click on it to get it to revert back to fullscreen. At least it loads though but in the current state I am really not interested in playing it.

To anyone who cannot load the game: request a refund from Steam and buy the game in a few months time once many of the issues have been fixed.

To anyone that's having this issue, you aren't helping yourselves by neglecting to post your full system specs and other items like what drivers and other software you might be running... No one can help you if you don't know that information and are not willing to share it if you do. Can't take anyone's word for "my rig is monster" because 99% of the time here on Steam, those rigs are not, in fact, monsters.

I tried this, got this notification:
JustCause4.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140_1.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game through steam many times, and I did an integrity verification. Nothing seems to be working from the tips online either. What is going on?

And looking at the dates of the comments, two years later and it's still not fixed.

I managed to fix it with this:
Solution!
VCRUNTIME140.dll is part of the 2015-2019 VC++ runtimes, which Sims 4 uses. The _1 on the end suggests there are multiple copies, one renamed, somewhere on your computer, which shouldn't happen. Regardless, it's best to uninstall your current copies, if you have them, and download new ones from Microsoft.

Click Windows key-i, select Apps, and scroll down to the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables. Click on the 2015 (or 2017, or 2015-2019) versions, both x86 and x64, and Uninstall. (Don't touch the versions from any other year.) Then download and install new versions directly from Microsoft:

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads

You need both the x86 and x64 versions, but you can skip the ARM version, which is for a different class of device. Restart your computer before trying to play.
