Considering the only JC game we know is in active development is a mobile game that has gone the furthest away from any of the past games plots or gameplay, I do not have any hope that JC5 will be good. I want a Just Cause game that's well Optimized.

I tried Just Cause 3 and 4 and both of them seem to tax my RTX 3080 more than they have any right to.

At least on my rx580 on 1440P
Jc3 is ok. I can hit 60 fps with just some minor graphical compromises
I was forced to use an fsr hack to lower my res so i could get 60fps in jc4, without using low settings. I was using ~ultra quality fsr when compared to amd's definitions

One would think an RTX 3080 Ti would be able to handle Just Cause 4 ate 1080p on any setting but noooooo it gets all choppy and has poor performance.

you have some settings wrong. i have a 2080 and it runs perfectly.

try fiddling with the settings. change the resolution to match your desktop. fiddle with anti aliasing. vsync on and off. windowed mode vs fullscreen

Yeah it's just, it's a really powerful card and runs RDR2 at max settings without any issues so it's weird that it has trouble with Just Cause 3 & 4.

Yeah, I agree with prizim. You definitely need to check your rig/settings. That's not normal.

Did you reach out to support about this? If it's a video card setting that causes a major performance drop, I would expect they'd be familiar with the setting and able to tell you how to change it.

Unless Square is running after EA's support policy. If step 1 is "try formatting your hard drive" and, when you say, "ummm... no." they respond by closing the ticket due to the customer not being willing to follow tech support's suggestions, in which case, y'all should let us know!

I'd hate to have to stop buying Square games the same way I've stopped buying EA games, but would prefer to know before they play EA and screw you as hard as they can for mentioning a bug/issue!

If you are OC, even factory, debug your card via NVCP. Many games do not like ANY OCs. Or if you're using any OS other than Windows e.g. proton, etc. check psu stability, etc.

OC = overclock
You usually don't have to do that, the drivers/your os will do that by itself

That was pretty much all on Square, they pushed the crap on Eidos during Mankind Divided, which was otherwise a fine game, GOTG is a well reciieved fine ass single player game too, Eidos was the only quality studio they had, Crystal Dynamics on the other hand is a waste of money depending on how influenced they were from Square or if it was their own doing. Its not about focus either, they dont care about these franchises.
Final Fantasy VII remake budget = >200 mil
Shadow of Tomb Raider = > 100 mil
Deus Ex MD = ~70 mil
Just Cause 4 = ~4 mil (why this game looks so poorly laboured)

They dont care about a franchise unless its has socio political messaging or mtx online live service capability. They wont care about Just Cause unless they want to ruin it and they most certainly will now.
