Seriously? No pistols?
I've seen so many gameplay and trailer, haven't seen even a glimpse on side-arm. It's not that much useful in previous game but I used it often. Definitely would be a shame if there's no sidearm considering the fact that they're trying to implement every single feature that we used to love in the prequel.

No we didn't.

Is it a confirmed information though? It would be weird if they removed sidearms all of a sudden.

I know right, it’s confirmed anyway. In the new 26 minutes gameplay they showed the ui interface menu, I’ve seen rifle, missile, some vehicles but no sidearm. You can also see that rico doesn’t have holster on his waist

I still don’t understand. How come tuk-tuk make a comeback but not the dual wield?

I think I may have some sort of explanation. The main thing that made dual-wielding work in JC2 (which, let's face it, was the only game in the series where dual-wielding really mattered - yes, the Pitbulls in JC1 were cool but it really didn't matter that there were two of them and the same applies to JC3 in my opinion) was the fact that you could use two different guns at the same time. I was a big fan of this feature and when JC3 made it so that you could only dual-wield the same weapon, I started using the sidearms a lot less. Now looking at JC4, I think Avalanche tried to bring back that dual functionality - but in a different way. That's what the alt-fire mode that reportedly most two-handed weapons have is for. Since having both dual-wielded sidearms and alt-fire mode at the same time would be too complicated and having the one-handed guns work like they did in JC3 would feel even more underwhelming now that the two-handed ones got an upgrade, I guess they just chose not to bother with the little guns. I'm still not entirely sold on the idea but I think I can see where it came from. I think that as long as some of the big guns can serve the same functions, I won't end up missing the sidearms.

Secondary fire in rifle pretty much replace side-arm function from what i’ve seen. But still kind of miss it though, sometimes I use it just to look cool. Aside from that, this game looks great and probably will be the best in the series. Eventhough the absence of sidearm kind of irritating, but it won’t be much of a deal breaker i guess

Just because we didn't see any pistols does not mean there won't be pistols. People who played the game before launch didn't even bother shooting enemies.

Like ... "HUH HUH HUH! Let's stand in the middle of a road doing weird stuff like tethering things together and IGNORE THE ENEMIES SHOOTING AT ME!"
