Enemy AI is horrible
Endless repeating enemies that surround you from all sides and instantly fire with like 3-4 choppers which take forever to go down with rockets coupled with escaping in a vehicle with brain dead AI NPC with a car that has abysmal laughable physics driving and the slow speeds at which cars accelerate coupled with how they seem to stop when hit by the ever emerging enemy vehicles which constantly hit you makes for a pathetic gaming experience.

I've never been this frustrated recently with games with bad AI and poor driving mechanics compounding the problem .

The escort mission with Mira where she is disabling some console while I have like 1:45 to disable 5 other consoles - why a timer? And why the incessant enemy constantly respawing with knowing exactly where I am? Where is my star meter like GTA telling me what my response level is? And why the nonstop choppers and trucks?

Gahh.. So irritating. And the NPC cars that just speed up and touch you and you start spinning in your car or get up only to be constantly hit by the fast moving NPC cars.

This game's enemy AI is horrible. I'm really hating this game now

I have to agree.

In JC3, you had enemies walking around, and you'd have enemies spawn at a distant point and race in.

In JC4, I had a mission where enemies were spawning in areas I'd already cleared, spawning around me in areas that had been empty a moment before, etc., and they weren't coming from anywhere.

Now, granted, it did make the mission a little more lively since I couldn't simply camp on the rooftop and hit them as they drove up.

Same with the "stay where you are because if you leave this totally open and defenseless platform, the endless waves will continue, but you won't make progress on the download" etc etc etc. It's kinda lame. Instead of making us fight INTELLIGENT enemies, they simply force you to stay in a strategically stupid location while surrounding you with enemies.

Here's what I'd like to see:
crouch
cover
fire around corners and over cover

fewer enemies, but smarter enemies: enemies take cover, camp, fall back, flank, fire from distance, etc.

One mission I was on, I can't remember which, the helicopter spawning was just absured. The game would always try to keep at least 2 helicopters after me. If I destroyed one it instantly respawned 20 feet just outside my FOV. I finally got fed up with it and just tried to control the helicopters with booster teathers. Enough to push them away but not cause them to crash.

Yeah...some missions I had to fire up my trainer and go full god mode, no reload, infinite ammo, and disable AI(only worked for foot soldiers). I enjoy a challenge as much as anyone but there are some missions that go beyond being a challenge and simply become ungodly broken due to the AI behavior and spawn rate.

I haven't experienced this level of difficulty yet at all. The only times I've died that weren't crashing into things were from trying to hack a terminal and getting killed cause you can't escape.

its bad early on but I found that the more regions you take over the more difficult they become, I did the desert regions last on my first playthrough and they were a challenge but still got past them

Oh there is one mission where you have to drive like 8 to 10 km with a high wanted level while babysitting some friendly AI who probably don;t know the difference between the trigger and the gun safety. Couple that with the enemy AI's stupid tendancy to swerve into you and the ridiculous spawn rate of enemy choppers and its a chore in and of itself just to get a replacement vehicle.

I spent an hour on that mission alone with 20 minutes of that being me using a trainer and failing 3 times. I came close to just uninstalling the game right then and there.

Worse than the crate mission in 3?

To put it simply...if your vehicle gets disabled you won't be able to get another one because of how fast the choppers respawn so your only option then is to restart.

Devs: cool it with the freakin choppers!

Last night I had FIVE choppers on me. That's too much. This game is supposed to be fun, but getting rockets from three choppers, snipers from two more, plus assorted snipers and rocket launchers from enemies around me is more than just a bit too much.

I think you guys forgot that Rico is supposed to be the hero.

I'm not asking for an easy game. In some ways the game is too easy. But the solution isn't to just spam choppers and rocket launchers everywhere.

Again: a good game should have a good AI that fights smart, not simply more enemies.

They couldn't figure out how to make good AI and instead spammed enemies and abused spawn positions.

At this rate, Square Enix will go bankrupt before that happens.

Here's what I'm gonna do - skip JC5. Or buy it much later when reviews confirm it is actually like JC3 or JC2 and only then think 10 times and then buy.
