I'm assuming the tornado is pretty much scripted.
I'm seeing more and more videos of it, and the tornado seems to follow the same exact path every time. If this is true that's very dissapointing, would have been so much cooler and much more realistic if the tornado at least moved around randomely... Heck Cities Skylines has randomly forming and moving tornadoes that suck up cars and people and through them. Instead this so called "ground breaking" tornado follows the same exact path... While a city sim from 2015 has a more realistic tornado then this. Does the sandstorm and thunderstorm occur in the same exact places as well?? I would expect that the thunderstorm at least moves around...

On its predetermined path. It almost always ends at the same bridge and then disapates off to the right in the water. Watch the script if you don't believe me. xD Also their is a 50% chance that the bridge it destories as it makes its way to the ocean, will auto rebuild itself in two seconds flat.

It seems to roam around the west / southwest area, its the only spot I seen it so far

Yeah I gotta say the weather system was dissapointing. Made it seem like they were dynamic or random events. But as far as Ive seen in the campaign, theyve only happened at scripted points.

you might be seeing footage of a mission. it makes sense to have scripted paths and predictability in a mission so that specific things/timings can happen.

Yea like during one of the base missions in the desert I had a sand storm, not seen one just on its own yet

Oh that is reassuring, and you probably are right about the pre-determined paths for missions. So it does roam around a bit, that's actually kinda neat. Just wonder if the thunderstorm or sandstorm roam around as well. I guess I can understand the bridge and dissipation in the ocean.

i saw one way in the distance but didn't go to it. so i can't speak to its natural behavior too much. I'll probably be watching for weather mods anyway to have maximum fun with that system

Oh yeah weather mods, that actually be really interesting to see what people can do with avalanches weather system. The clouds are actually phyisically simulated volumetric clouds so they're as realistic as you can get in the gaming industry right now (but definetly close to real life)

Haven't had too much experience with tornados, but I think it's likely they do have somewhat of a predetermined path, in that they head towards physics objects to destroy them. A tornado I followed went right through the middle of a bridge on the coast, but sadly the tornadoes don't seem to be strong enough to destroy bridges, just damage them.

I myself have, even in non-campaign, only seen scripted storms, except for one random thunderstorm. Maybe they don't spawn on their own because I use the spawn terminals? I am going to go test it.

If we can't have random weather, maybe a modder can make a tornado gun? lol. It would be awesome to be able to spawn tornadoes where ever we want.

I would really like to know if thunderstorms can truly be random, tell me what you find out!

Yes one of the many lies told to us by avalanche. They hyped up weather only to be three scripted events.

For the tornado, it seems to be scripted with a start and end, but not the inbetween. It seems that there is always a change to it's path, but ultimately ends up hitting the bridge, and it always starts at Zona Tres. Though, I remember that there was a random tornado when I first started playing, but I might've just falsely remembered it. Going to investigate further.
