nvidia MFAA? Anyone tried it?
Has anyone tried forcing MFAA..or any other AA method and had any success? Right now im obviously using no AA because the SMAA causing more blurring than motion blur and FXAA doesnt appear to work anyways

Anyone? How about anything via nvinspector
tried it. I dont know really, I had it turned on together with ReShade and some MSAA settings in the SweetFX Ini. didnt like it like that. turned back to the vanilla game, finally noticed the lack of AA overall much more then before. Turned MFAA on again, doesnt really seem to make any difference (performancewise too) at all......
I was getting into it again.

First turn on MFAA in Control Panel, it doesnt seem to change a lot, but somewhat the picture looks clearer (on my 27" IPS Curved PC Monitor, not on my FullHD TV with HDR)

What I recommend is getting SweetFX/ReShade. Just Activate HDR and Gausien Blur. Adjust to your likings. You get a more contrast rich picture through the HDR and can cut out a lot of sharp edges using the blur. Worked pretty well for me. Game looks just better with it

I wonder if changing the compatibility bit in nvinspector would allow better AA for nvidia users. Forcing via regular CP settings does nothing. Nice to hear it works for AMD users though.

MFAA is really just an old SMAA so i was hopeful but skeptical.

I have an HDR display that has a setting to simulate HDR that works better than reshades method and ive tried it but the colors and contrast arent really the issue. Its the shimmering/aliasing, textures, pop in and random studder. I especially dislike being able to see the game swap tree sprites for 3d trees...and the water lol, i guess basically everything about the visuals and performance.

JC3 looks a generation better and runs better, its just crazy and there are so many things wrong at a design level (visually speaking) that were done to make it work on the base consoles that i dont think the fixes we (might) eventually see will do much to improve things.

Such a shame that Square Enix have basically killed avalanches big series just to meet the holiday release date. It should have been delayed to summer when theres nothing to play. That would have given them time to actually finish the game without gutting it like they did.
I dont really understand it. it runs better then JC 3? As far as I can remember JC 3 barely ran the first couple of days, now its fine, but still it looks ♥♥♥♥ from time to time.

HDR will only make the picture darker, sure, you need gausien blur to reduce the sharp edges. Look for: "Just Cause 4 ReShade proper AA" <--- download that and see the difference.

1/6/2020: Yes it actually works! but not with a specific just cause 4 profile, it only works with the global settings. In game I have FXAA and MFAA on nvidia's control panel. Latest game patch + Driver 460.89

So did I understand this correctly: If I try to force MFAA for JC4 in program settings, it won't work, but if I turn it on in global settings, it will?
