For me? Shooting was improved. Gun sounds. Gunplay in general. Sure, it's not Euphoria Physics Engine, but better than JC3.
9. is a like animals ~
Totally agree. I like the gun sounds, and the aim is really good. I feel like range is better than JC3. The gun sounds are heavier and I like that.
If they gave a ♥♥♥♥ or looked at literally any car game, or any game at all theyd understand but I assume people who have never seen a video game with cars work at avalanche.
Then youre objectivley wrong. Ofcurse the handling is bad but had they fixed the camera it would be significantly less prevelant and problematic.
I play a lot of racing sims in 1st person, plenty of arcadey racing games, and a lot of open world games. None of them have the porblems this game has, the weird camera angles, the strange lens lenght/fov are obvious especially with larger vehicles like planes, and cranes and trucks.
In ground vehicles the camera is too low and follows the car poorly and doesnt let you see ahead to where you are going like it should (in real life you look ahead to where you want to go and not at the hood of teh car) In planes the camera is so long (lens lenth ) and the fov is so small that theperspective in game is completely lost making the game ISOMETRIC. This is also problematic sinc eth etwo plane vies are positionned to look DOWN at the plane instead of behind it so you can see ahead, this makes turning, rolling and any action other that flying in a straight line nauseating.
The same isometric perspective is a problem with large ground vehicles and boats.
The camera is actually SNAPPED to teh chassis while also being loose in the wrong way. Its difficult to put into words without the game in front of me to explain it in a video/face to face.
This means if theres any bump in the road the camera moves a ton, because its pulled so far back with a narrow fov a tiny movment on the car equals a MASSIVE movement in the game world and the scenery. Which is disturbingly bad and causes motion sickness.
This is all ON TOP of poor handling charecteristics,
I dont get motions sick in any games, VR or otherwise, I dont get it when driving or being driven. ONLY in this game.
They are barely functional.
JC4 devs avalanche should have taken a look at gtav for their camera options and teh mechanics of how they work. This would have given them a baseline to reach for each vehicle type.
While driving in JC3 was better than JC2, I felt the cars slid around too much. Here, I can weave in and out of traffic, take tight turns, etc. without spinning around half the time.
Granted, I don't play a lot of driving games. I grew up on arcades, so I've always like kinda arcade-y driving. However, I'm 47, and have been playing games since the days of pong. In that time, I've played my share of driving games.
I like the driving in JC4.
