So how do you take over bases now?
not sure, from the reviews it seems you have to fly or drive through rings or something, side quests....
No wanted another Just Cause 3, if it would of been the same, the same clowns would of said 'OMG THIS IS JUST JUST CAUSE 3.1, WHY ARE YOU SELLING ME DLC' blah blah blah.
It's good that it's different.
while you might have a point... it's not going to make me spend £45 on a game that has had it's defining mechanic... removed....
Trust me, it makes for some pretty boring gameplay, JC3 is stellar in comparison
You don't, by blowing up choas objects you can attract more rebels to your army, when you have enough rebels, you can use them to attack enemy areas, taking them form yourself. The bases exist, but they're used as the backdrop for missions rather than mindless explosions.
There lots more missions in JC4.
When you word it this way, it makes it sound less like a big change - rather they've simply added an extra step to the process... for no reason other than to say it's different.
and taking the simple pleasure directly from blowing up a base to capturing it... really makes it sound less fun
while it has a bigger map and a few more mechanics, just cause 3 XL edition will give you everything you need and has hours of fun
In JC3 you go to a town, destroy all chaos objects, attack the police station, raise the flag and the resistance moves into the town and occupies it. When all the towns and bases are conquered, the territory belongs to you, and you move to the next territory.
In JC4, you blow up chaos objects to fill an invisible meter. When the meter is full, you are paid in a currency called "soldiers". No actual soldiers join you. It's simply a number. You then go to the map and look at territories, which have prices listed in "soldiers". You then spend your "soldiers" to buy areas of the map.
In JC4, the main emphasis of the game is perform stunts using balloons and rockets attached to vehicles and various objects, and then make funny youtube videos showing off how funny and silly JC4 is, because the devs apparently can't understand that while youtubers enjoyed making videos of themselves tethering objects in funny ways in JC3, what makes for a funny youtube video does not necessarily make for an enjoyable gaming experience.
Avalanche severely dropped the ball with this one, and the numbers show.
JC4 was one of the most disastrous gaming launches in history, and the devs still seem not to understand why it was a complete and utter failure.
