Let us see JC 4.
Agreed, heck i played Diablo2 for more than 1000 Hours but Diablo2 didnt felt as repetetive as Just Cause 3. I had to force me to play JC3, and i never finished it, too repetetive and boring...
The repetitive nature of gameplay is an issue that exist in both Far Cry and Just Cause. One difference is that Just Cause offers more "toys", it is fun to mess around with the gadgets they provide you within the game. Moreover, different vehicles can be spawned via in-game feature.
I had a lot of fun with Just Cause for these two features along. People were able to do cool stunts in Just Cause with a creative approach to the tools given, that can not be said for Far Cry 5. I think it is the silly moments when you experiment with different things that makes Just Cause special. Overall, I had more fun with Just Cause because I can always find new use of the given gameplay mechanisms, it really helps with the otherwise repetitive gameplay.
I can not comment about Just Cause 4's story since I haven't experienced it, yet I don't think it is going to be better than Far Cry 5's. Granted that there are noticeable inconsistencies, but the overall atmostphere and story flow is executed so much better in Far Cry 5. Some writing in Just Cause 3 is just plainly cringy and out-of-place, let along that the overall tone of the game is kinda weird, I think it can be attributed to their failure to balance the comedical elements and the serious part of the story. Far Cry 5 is far from the best, but it is still way better than Just Cause 3 in terms of the story.
In terms of weaponry, there is something more pleasing in Far Cry 5 in comparison to Just Cause 3 due to the fact that Just Cause 3's weapons are sometimes too overpowered. Considering that Far Cry 5 is a first-person shooter, maybe the comparison here isn't fair.
Just Cause 4 is introducing a new weapon system: every in-game weapon is going to have a secondary fire option, which I think would spice the gunplay up a lot. In addition, the gadgets can be used in combat, it would be very satisfying especially if you know how to best utilize them. Plus, the developers have made a huge improvements on enemy A.I. and enemy diversity in Just Cause 4, it seems that now the role of each enemy type is much more distinct, I would be eager to experience it.
I enjoyed some set pieces of Far Cry 5, in terms of gameplay content that is tied to the story, Just Cause 3 seemed to lack that kind of dedicated story content that are unique to experience in comparison. Maybe it is because whether it is the main story or not, the primary objective is often to blow things up. However, some footage from Just Cause 4 has suggested that there is going to be some improvements on the variation (on how you blow things up).
In terms of content quantity and diversity, Far Cry 5 wins effortlessly against Just Cause 4. Just Cause 2 had a huge chunk of content, but the quality is very limited.
Anyway, these are just my random thoughts that I scribbled down, I hope it helps.
Thanks Captain Scorpion
