WIll the car work with a missing exhaust system?
I've been wondering if i could setup a minimalistic engine, and .. to me, having exhaust piping seems like a waste of time, but the second crane mounting point happens to be part of the exhaust manifold.

My limited understanding of how cars work is that the exhaust manifold wouldn't be vital, can the engine in the game perform without it?

Yes as long as the headers are on, it will just be louder in RL, as for the game, I think it will run without them as well..

Not sure if the engine will work without manifold, but it will surely work without the exhaust. It will also be really loud
yes open headers work just fine and actually save a bit if weight :)

louder too it sound nice
I did drive satsuma about a year without exhaust in real life, yea, it does work, also pretty sure it works in game :D

That's what i ment, running without exhaust header in the game. I mean it would be loud and probably really bad for anything near it, but it SHOULD work right?

I've been thinking about unscrewing it from the engine once i've placed it inside the engine bay...

Reason I'm here is because everything is together but I still have the smoke coming out from the manifold instead of exhaust pipe. I took em apart put em all back together, tried putting them back on in different orders, I mean I like the way it sound with just the manifold. I tried everything, even that MSCediter, it's gotta be a bug. I see the smoke coming from the engine but when I look its coming out of the manifold with the exhaust attached to it.

did you miss the 2 bolts where the exhaust joins the manifold?

I'm pretty sure it's a bug because I have the MSCeditor and that tells me that everything is bolted down. Like I said I've manually taken them off and put them back on in different orders. I'm thinking of trying the old manifold with the old set up see what happens.

will it work? yep...

does it sound good? no...

far too many kids driving around in their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ civics/accords, etc. these days with no exhaust...

sounds like something between a mad bumble bee going down the road and farting while sitting on a metal bucket on a concrete floor...

My gf bought an accord from craigslist and I thought the engine sounded louder than it should, turns out the previous owner pulled out the air-filter and left it open. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots. It's a v6 it's a pretty solid car good down-force. If you really wanna be badass you don't need to make your car sound louder, just drive it properly. not only that, but air filters are there for a reason, talk about stupidity, risking damaging your intake so your car sounds louder. The tiny brains in some people blow my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mind.

Have ran the car with no manifold. If you want REAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLY minimalistic, remove the coolant system and drive it just a bit every so often, fill the brake fluid on only front or rear or not at all. Sadly you need to fill the clutch liquid.
