Crankshaft removal
Sorry for making another post, but I'm stuck. What parts need to be taken off to remove the crankshaft? Because I've taken pretty much everything you can without dropping the engine from the car, and yet it still doesn't let me remove it

Yes, you need to remove parts from both sides, i.e. timing gear and flywheel/clutch/gearbox. I don't know if the engine may fall out once you unscrew the 11mm bolt mounting the gearbox, but it is possible.

I've unscrewed the gearbox, gear linkage and the halfshafts, even the engine mounting bolts, and the gearbox won't go. I'm guessing the engine needs to be removed (which is slightly insane). Sucks I can't bring the engine hoist to the car. It'd be alot easier than taking the car to it

Gearbox is mounted, afair, 11 to the body, 6x6 and 1x10 to the block, 6x9 halfshafts, but there is still drive gear to be removed - 6mm? Will try to check this later today.

We've done it. The gearbox and all the gubbins under it need to come off for the crankshaft to be removed. A pain, but the engine is still in. Dispite all 3 of the engine mounts not touching anything
