Travel Times (Information Thread)
While routing for MSC(for speedrunning), I learned very quickly that lots of time can be saved simply by finding faster travel methods. I'd like to share some of my results. I've taken my best 2 runs for each route. The route was from the vans starting position to the trigger for Teimo to say something upon entering his shop. The times do not account for returning, but I discovered that it didn't matter for these tests.

Times use the Hour:Minute format.

Boat
6:04 and 5:48. Averaged to 5:56.

Van Under the Lake
3:52 and 3:34. Averaged to 3:43.

Van Around Lake Border
4:30 and 4:39. Averaged to 4:35.

Van Around Lake Border Reversed
4:52 and unsafe(died a lot). Averaged to 4:52

Van Highway
unsafe and unsafe. By the time I reached the highway, I was already at 1 minute and not even 20% done with the trip.

From my results, the boat is the slowest method of getting to town. Not only that, but you'd have to carry one by one the coolant/motor oil jugs to the boat, then back into the garage. With the van using the other methods, you can take what you pick up very quickly.

The fastest route according to my results is driving under the lake. Nearly a whole minute ahead of driving around. However, I fear that ToplessGun will make driving underwater impossible soon, or at least hinder the possibility of making it across.

I have not tested the other vehices. I'm kind of curious of how the Satsuma does, but for a speedrun, it's practically useless to use the Satsuma as it's in peices while the shop has to be visited.

How about the sewage truck? At times I feel like that can be faster than the van. At least it has a higher top speed.

Possibly, but I'm not sure how it'd survive the trip back with supplies as the windows don't have collision yet. I'll hold off testing the sewage truck until the windows are breakable in tue truck.

Is that starting from the driveway of the house or from touching the highway?

Which is 1.2 hours ingame - The town really is far away.

Interesting info! Not sure whether that coastal route would be here to stay either, but hopefully it does.

I definitely am faster with the truck than the van, both on the dirt roads (can drive faster without dying) and on the highway where it can get up to 120 while the van is unstable above 100.

From the garage at the house to the door of the shop.

Excellent, I'll add that up top.

Lake border is the best if you take into account chance of surviving. It's very easy to get stuck in the lake if you aren't precise about your speed and the angle you enter.

Its stop speed is really 80-90 unless you constantly want to be paying for fuel If you run the truck into the red on the fuel flow metre, you basically are throwing cash out the window.
