The entire floating sky level is an exercise in frustration
I enjoy a challenge, but right now I'm struggling to appreciate the challenge of this level because all the platforming feels "slippery" with the fast character, and the changing wind (observable from the clouds in the background) pushing me around just makes it worse.

Some games, it's extremely obvious that every death is a failure of me as the player. Right now I'm not getting that feeling from this game.

I'm on the boss now, and I like his design. But aside from my similar complaint about the wind making everything feel slippery, the "auto-bouncing" buttons are awkward and make it difficult to be precise with rotating the pipes.

Anyway, I'm just ranting here. I like a lot about the game and its design, but I'm usually a guy who looks forward to mastering the levels and playing on the harder setting, and right now I'm not sure I'm going to get there with this game.

Edit: Finally beat boss thanks to RNG on pipe spawns. Don't feel like I got gud, just lucky.

2nd Edit: Cleared a lot more content. Several areas have been very challenging, but thankfully none of them have felt unfair. Left a review reflecting my current thoughts.

for stong winds you must have the crown equiped... the crown is in the Kings challange in the ice level that requires the Sheild (revivew from insta death) item

want to see a challange.. the ice lvl with vanshing blocks and getting stuck frozen all the time...

how ever there soo far is no part of the game that I wanted to throw my controler,,, and ever part see possible with out spending a crap load of time on it IMO,,, the only issue I had was the spider fights thinking I couldn't attack back becuz the game howto told me I couldn't fight back

I beat the ice level in just a few tries - much faster than the sky level. Really just the sky level has felt frustrating so far (besides the spider for the reason you mentioned) because the cat already feels "slippery" when platforming and the wind just made it worse.

I suspected later that maybe there was some item that negated the winds. But if there was any clue that was the case (other than the uncharacteristic difficulty of the region), I didn't see it.

just the crown, it kills wind and ice elements...

Word. The order I did the levels in, I got to the sky palace long before I got the crown. Now that I have the crown, its description clearly mentions that it negates wind and ice.
