Remember to uninstall logitech sw

Solved it.
-Go to regedit- HKEY-LOCAL-MACHINE\SYSTEM\Control\Mediaproperties\Privateproperties\Joystick\OEM
-Delete all the files in the OEM folder.
-Uninstall the logitech gaming software and then install again the latest version.
-Restart the computer.
I then played Project cars first, before trying F1 2017. In Project Cars I had to initally set up the clutch and accelerator manually, after that it worked perfectly. I then went onto F1 2017 and also everything worked perfectly.
I can now switch between playing Project Cars and F1 2017 without any issues.
Deleted the Logi software, ran CC Cleaner to fix the registry, reinstalled Logi software and it's working again.
What a faff.
Project Cars 2 delete and modifies system keys from registry.
Only yesterday I installed RegShot to monitor registry changes and it's clear that Project Cars deletes and modifies entries in HKU\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C24F, especially the OEM Name and OEM data entries. Restoring these fields fixes the problems with clutch becoming the accelerator and vice-versa and the loss of feedback.
This has to be done every time you played Project Cars. You need default keys values, ideally a registry back-up with that data. No need to reinstall LGS or unplug the wheel
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C24F
Test this values, it works for me:
OEMName: "Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel USB" instead of "G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel"
OEMData: 43 00 08 10 19 00 00 00 instead of 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
You're my hero - thanks dude, easy fix
As Chef Koch said - you are a hero! Thanks - it worked for me too - also fixed an issue with F1 2017 (wheel weight is gettin nearly lost after a few laps - now - its working the whole race! Again THANK YOU SO MUCH!!
Remember, the registry back-up is the best workaround.
I already mentioned this in my the first post, but for simplicity:
Make sure the registry has the correct values as I mentioned before:
Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\MediaProperties\PrivateProperties\Joystick\OEM\VID_046D&PID_C24F
Should be:
OEMName: "Logitech G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel USB" instead of "G29 Driving Force Racing Wheel"
OEMData: 43 00 08 10 19 00 00 00 instead of 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 00
Now create a registry backup of the whole OEM\VID_046D&PID_C24F folder.
(right-click > export)
Now, after you play Project Cars (2), then you just double-click the back-up and restore registry, much better than manually restoring those keys.
I still can't believe a game changes system registry data and completely messes the way G29 works on other games.
Sorry for the dumb question, but where can i find this HKEY_CURRENT_USER?
press Windows+R, type in "regedit" and hit enter. from there on you should find it yourself. sorry for negro ¯\ (•◡•) /¯
