Mech Pilot can't walk through doors
Is the mech pilot going to be updated so he can walk through doors?

He can if you get out of the mech.

That's the point, he can't enter the buildings while riding the mech. Leave the mech there and do what you need to do inside the building without it.

It's intentional so that the mech pilot can't walk through doors

The character info mentions that you can't fit through doors

You use the mech key. If it is in the first slot press 1.
