Can't figure out how to play online. [SOLVED by devs]

This is what I've tried so far. I found this info online.

"type /invite when you host an online game (That will bring up the steam overlay to invite friends) from the start menu or they can find you in the server listing after creating an Online Match"

My friend can't find my server on the list, no matter if they search for the name of my game or for my Steam name. We've tried hosting both ways, and had the same result.

I also tried loading into my game and pressing "/invite (followed by a space and their Steam name).

When I do this, they get a friend invite on Steam, and either the connection times out, or it just takes them to the in game online search, where my game is not listen.

Can anyone help me with this. Thanks. I really want to play this game without using Parsec, as my friend has issues with Parsec.

this game seems to frequently have connection issues lately. They seem to last a few days. posting on the forums does raise visibility for the problem though

I played this game ages ago with my friend online and local, but I too am now getting "connection failed when joining" Just like you it seems. Hopefully they can get this sorted out

Apologies, this also happened a few weeks back, as a result of one of Unity's servers having issues. I'm going to send them a ticket asap. They seem to be not paying very much attention when this happens, likely as a result of the game using Unity's older multiplayer services that they've attempted to phase out over the years.

in the meantime, you can use a LAN game using your internet facing IP and port forwarding

No, it has not. I've been trying the last 45 minutes with friends. Every variation we tried fails (except we are able to join a random server in Asia Pacific, which has mods).

They've yet to get back to me. In the past they've been quicker about it, here's hoping I'll hear from them soon.

Yeah they notified me that it's been fixed.
