Does it get repetitive?
I know this is subjective but what do you guys think?
Do things get old around a certain "hour mark"?

Just asking because this seem to plague a lot of rogue-like games.
Wanted to see the replay value of this game. Kind wish there was a demo.

Well, it's always the same 5 levels. It's randomly generated but all levels contain their own theme of things. Well, except if you use mutators. You can mess with most of all settings and not just like options. You can change what generates and not in a world. Completing big quests unlock super classes and well, you can make it fun for a long while by changing lot and lot of things.

There is a demo, its not on steam but you can search and find it.

Not at all, I play it with friends all the time, and even a bad run is fun as ♥♥♥♥
there is so much chaos, and I always keep yelling along my friend because of how chaotic the situation is

and that is until you discover you can buy more items and stuff to the pool with nuggets (kinda like cells, on dead cells) only that here is not that tedious, and they actually are fun to use

I have 57 hours and now I don't play often because of that, but 57 hours is a lot of time. I don't think you have anything to worry about.

It gets repetitive after a while since the number of items are not great, also the things you can interact to in the map are few, and allways do the same thing.

So I tried the demo, it's fun, but what are the differences between it and the main game?
Aside from the "homebase", more characters, and big quests do you get anything more from the game? Like new events, smarter more dynamic AI, etc etc?

It's only as repetitive as your imagination allows it. I'm a guilty person myself. I tend to sell items I don't use or wear them around in my backpack for a couple of floors and eventually drop/sell them. But it's in the moments which you use a one-time item that changes the way you would have completed a mission that makes this game so great. And it really changes from item to item, from character to character, from play style to play style. I wouldn't say any of these things if I wouldn't have 751 bloody hours in this game. Streets of Rogue is still one of the few games I return from time to time. Cause it's fun!

Remember this: you can always finish a mission by killing everyone in your way, but the question is: should you?

More stages = more opportunities for chaos. And that blends very well with more chars, items, traits, etc, etc.
And now that it will get FULL mod support in the nearby future, you can transform Streets of Rogue into Streets of New York, since the mods add new building types and variation to your game.

Due to the sheer number of character classes, items and options .. personally, I don't see it getting boring because it's just fun to cause mayhem and S.O.R. does not leave you short of ways to do that. Just don't always do things the same way or with the same character.

Also the demo is TINY compared to the full game if I remember right.

I have 164 hours right now. The game keeps you entertained for a very long time, especially if you like to get creative with the way you do missions.

I've done pretty much everything, aside from the speedrun modes. Eventually, like every other game, you'll get bored, but not for a while.

My advice? Don't tunnelvision. What I mean by this is, just running and gunning every objective, selling all of the interesting items so you can get ammo etc. It's something I found myself doing and it really sucks the fun out of the game, I still put a ton of hours into it even when doing this, thankfully I stopped though, I still play with friends sometimes.

Overall, it's subjective but at least for me, it kept me entertained for tons of hours. I bought it for 7 bucks when it was in early access and it is a purchase that I'm happy I made.

With mod support and a map editor on the rise, yea definitely buy it imo, base game is fun as heck even without those.

The cool thing about this game unlike most rouglikes is that nearly every character feels entirely different. I'm 60 hours in and there are still some characters I haven't beat the game with, so you'll get your money's worth if you're a fan of the core gameplay

dont know if anyone said this :steamhappy: but they have a way to seed your own lvls via text so you can play the same ones over again also the fun of being able to create your own character with lots of interesting traits and skills along with stats but if you generally dont play rogueslikes or pixel games i could see this getting boring fast

after about hour 100 it becomes a little repetitive.
