Assassin nerfed out of existence.
Didn't see that coming... there goes one of the funnest classes.

I'm not saying because it was seen as easily abusive, but it was genuinely fun. Not to mention the backstab system is partially broken anyways, so it wasnt even a 100% backstab. NPCs would constantly turn around in a frame while you were stabbing, NPCs would desync on multi, you'd punch through the guy and hit someone else uncloaking yourself...

Now theres really 0 reason to take camo. I understand lunge, but getting rid of camo which takes SOME skill is too much. How is uptown even possible with this new bumping into people mechanic? Now it can only be used to get around the map. Even then, you cant while someone is watching...

Haven't used assasin after nerf but reading the notes it does seem pretty useless now

Consensus of pretty much everyone who commented on it before was that it was way, way overpowered. Now it's not.

Plenty of reason to take camouflage. I mean, it's still free invisibility and 1-hit kills, it just takes a bit of skill, care and planning now to use properly. If you find that to be useless, then I dunno what to tell ya.

Actually, I'd say it was nerfed into existence. It was the most boring, too overpowered class. Characters being stronger than others is fine but having a character that is SO strong you can kill everyone without being seen with barely any risk is just not fun for many players. Did they see you? Don't worry, you can run away faster than them. Now, it actually takes a lot more skill.

If you stand behind the NPC and in reach, you will always backstab. I don't know what you mean with the not always 100% backstab. NPC's never turn around in the frame you're stabbing, unless you waited too long and they want to walk elsewhere. And I don't recommend backstabbing someone if there's someone else in front of them a few inches away.

In Uptown, either just don't bump into people in the crowd by walking around them or only cloak inside buildings when needed.

Turing an overpowered ability into a worthless one isn't balance.

It's not worthless, as I covered in my previous post? Again: Free invisibility, 1-hit kills.

Gotta make those tough decisions sometimes. Not everyone's gonna love them.

That said, I may remove the -2 seconds thing. Also, after testing, I think there's an AI bug thing where too much noise is being made when someone backstabs.

after testing some backstab i do agree that 2 seconds thingy is annoying

i like the crowd searching and bump into people lose invisibility tho
Crowd searching and bumping are good additions as they add much needed depth to the assassin but the -2 seconds on top of that really is too much.

I don't think the "people run when hit by an invisible person" thing works with effect invisibility, though. Having that in general makes a lot of sense, felt weird when they didn't.

It would probably make the assassin class more handy if they can 'hide' the body while assassinating, with the attempt to assassinate being harder but hiding the body being easier to do...
For instance you can stuff them into trash cans.

Before I would just see Assasins (myself included) walk into a building and kill every person in there, all while being invisible. Only the werewolf could keep up. And on the chance we did fail a backstab and got revealed, we can still whip out a sword or gun to fight normally.

Granted, the nerf was huge in every way possible. After playing it some, I still felt it was a good character. Just starving for Longer Status Effects.

Camoflauge on it's own is great for stealthing dungeons. Ignore cameras, invis when you trip a laser, walk right up to the computer, etc.

Assassin was one of my most hated classes because of how overpowered it was. Though I haven't played Assassin after the nerf, the nerf seems well deserved.

I quite like the changes to assassin, it makes it much harder and more tactical to play, instead of just wandering up to a npc in the middle of the street and killing them, now you have to wait until they are isolated or have their back exposed, which makes more sense thematically

I played 2 mathes with assasin, liked it (i bought the game after the nerf)
The thing I think could be added is a smokebomb that makes you invisible even when someone is watching, the smoke could also stay on screen for 3 secs (giving 15 invis effect) and while on smoke (the 3 initial seconds) you dont lose invis bumping into people, also, people could walk off the smoke or stay paralyzed on it for the first second or 2

i bought the game 2 days ago and got the assasin today and got to the end and it was still really easy honestly i think he can be nerfed again some how and still be good
