best/favorite item in the game?
we have a worst item discussion, i'm gonna steal the idea to make a best item one as well.

for me, toss up between tranq gun and rage poison most likely, but i definitely favor the tranq gun because rage poison doesn't have a good lethality rate unless the building is very full with NPCs, plus the gas vents are such a trivial joke for NPCs to avoid.

i've disabled notifications of replies for this thread so don't feel bad about necroing if needed.

The 'Best Item' is very situational, which I think is a great thing. It all depends on what class you have chosen and how you are going about tackling the obstacles the game provides.

I would say the Food Processor and Mini Fridge are often my most prized possessions unless I'm playing one of the few classes that can't eat food to heal.

The Ammo Processor is a must have when playing a ranged weapon class, and the Melee Durability Spray is awesome to keep those Swords and Axes (and the occasional Sledgehammer) from disappearing on a melee weapon class.

The Resurrection Shampoo and Quick Escape Teleporter are very nice for saving you from ending a run prematurely.

The Timed Explosives are also quite enjoyable for dealing with several enemies at once.

The Giantizer is always fun for some lulz, though for some reason I actually don't always use them even when I find them, and even less so since the nerfed duration.

Tranquilizer pistol and ammo processor are both excellent for any build that can use guns of any kind. Ammo processor's a bit more versatile than the kill ammunizer, since the latter only works if you're the one that kills (and thus, it doesn't go well with a knockout-heavy run, nor does it work nearly as well if you're getting NPCs to kill each other rather than doing it yourself).

I'm also fond of the Hologram Bigfoot, for getting NPCs to fight each other or to destroy an object w/o turning anyone hostile against me.

ressurection shampoo would definitely be #3 for me, i favor more offensive solutions than defensive given a choice though i guess.

I'm always happy to find a shampoo, but it doesn't really change anything, because I'm still going to be trying my best not to die, anyway. I can't give the "most valuable" label to something that I'm trying not to make use of.

My #1 is definitely the tranquilizer gun. Ownership of one of those is very nearly worth a class, all by itself, as there are a ton of missions that become trivial when you have it. Even the ten-second delay is a feature, not a bug, because it gives you a chance to be elsewhere when the bodies are discovered. And you can even use it in active combat, if you're a fast character who can outrun your enemies while you're waiting, or you can use it twice for instant effect.

Also note that you can still use the Kill Ammunizer/Healthenizer/Monetizer with the tranq gun. After they're down, just kick them a couple of times and they'll die. You won't get any XP from them, and it'll rule out the "no kills" XP bonus, but it will trigger the kill gadgets.

It's especially good on a Hacker, since the missions that the tranq gun make very easy are mostly complementary to the missions that the Laptop makes very easy.

After that, my favorites are probably the Skeleton Key, the Rocket Launcher, and the Time Bomb. As the tooltips say, sometimes your best option is just blowing it up.

Electro Pill and Silencer.

Rocks are my favorite. So versitile! And then Shurikens because they deal 10 damage regardless of your stats.

Water gun. love it.
I just wished there were more effects.

If you get an invisibility syringe and enough cash to clone it a few times, the thing becomes a cakewalk. Being invisible has so many damn advantages, even in 'Loud' characters!

Word up to this, big time. Water Gun + Cyanide Pill is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ OP. I mean, for real, EIGHT shots for one pill? EIGHT silent, instant kills? Tranq gun is dope, no doubt, but I'm putting my support behind the water gun.

The Skeleton Key's my favorite item. It's not the least bit flashy, but has infinite uses and instantly bypasses any locked door. In some places it's more useful than a laptop. Plus, it's always helpful to be able to duck into an empty building when your HP is low and raid the place for health restoratives without making a scene.

On the other side, Tranq has a much lower maintenance cost...cheaper ammo and also refilled by the "Ammo Gadgetry". But yeah, both of them are OP af.

As for best item, the only thing that classifies as such for all classes and situations is Ressurection Shampoo (which I strongly feel must be removed from the game). Other things that come close are Skeleton Key (any door), Sledgehammer (any window), QE Tele, Kill Healthenizer.

And my favourite "item" is the toilet that you can carry and fling as Wrestler...just too good :D
