Report a translation problem
I'm immediately in love with creating custom chunk packs for people to inject into their games, that's what I see myself using most of my editor time on
Bug reports so far
- I loaded a bank prefab to look at and the goons are part of a NPC random set called GuardType, I can duplicate it by selecting one of them but there's no menu icon for it otherwise
- I closed out of testing while talking to a clerk and the text field persisted back into the editor and other menus, had to close and reopen the game
- Crash when moving from a 2x2 bank prefab to trying to create a new 1x1 chunk
- Will we get a cutscene creator? (cutscenes with characters, animations and text that are shown between each level)
- Will we get to use custom playable and NPC characters? (important for story details)
- Can we use different characters and items for each level? (my stories will have different characters and points of view for each chapter)
- Can we have specific items in chests? (important for the puzzle levels)
- Can we spawn and leave the level without the elevator object? (might have some workarounds)
I have big plans for two stories, one of them is tragic and the other one is comical (streets of rogue style) with each of them having multiple chapters. Just wanted to know if it will be possible in the future, if i'm getting my expectations too high or not.
- Supercop becomes E_Empty when assigned to perform Joke. (this is likely also the case with other non-Comedian NPCs, and generally whenever an NPC is asked to do a behaviour it does not typically perform, but I have not tested this)
- a few items don't appear when placed (e.g. wastebasket, arena door, panic room door, etc.) but I'm guessing they just haven't been added
- there isn't an autosave or confirmation that notifies you that you might lose what you've done when switching modes (e.g. chunk->level, campaign->chunk, etc.)
- rotations don't work sometimes, especially with doors.
- door variable selection is a bit weird, there are two locked wooden doors (e.g. normal, locked, locked (wood), locked (steel), etc.), and no unlocked steel doors (though that might be due to it not existing)
and finally
it'd be really nice if we could have to ability to edit signs, or have some form of readable text in-game, so that it becomes easier to tell stories. optimally we'd also be able to have some sort of custom NPC dialogue creator too, but that might be a bit complicated.
-Windows has strange graphical bugs, when chained together.
-Super cops becoming E_Banana When i set to idle, and become strange mutant things.
-Butler Robot does nothing and just sits their.
The suggestions for the level editor
-A option to make the bouncers unbribe-able
-Manuall setting the laser's color So, the laser can appear as alarm or explosive always in that chunk.
I have a door set to locked facing the interior of a room, on a floor belonging to the same owner ID as the person I want to drop a key...is there something not immediately obvious that I need to do? I tried messing around with prefabs but can't get it to work
Not sure, I'd recommend checking out one of the existing prefabs and compare it to what you've got. Did you set up the locked room as a prison properly?
- Sometimes after opening the file menu and then closing it, it "locks" draw mode on, like I'm holding down the left mouse button. If I click the mouse button after that, it goes back to normal.
- I noticed that holes don't appear in the Slums, at least not in test mode. I'm guessing this is because Slums doesn't have any holes in the regular game, and is a limitation and not a bug... but thought I'd mention it.
Other features that I'd like to see...
- As mentioned already, setting the specific items found in chests, safes, etc.
- Set poison or other status effects for water (maybe by placing a water pump next to it and then setting the status effect for that).
- Place pre-broken furniture and objects (for ruined/haunted buildings).
- A way to drag and drop existing objects rather than having to erase and redraw them. (Maybe there's already a way to do this and I just missed it...)
edit: nevermind
Would like to be able to set a status on an NPC and set its duration (or make infinite)? How about editing the characters' stats/inventory/equipped?
