Hows the controller support?

Anyone have some experience? Is this another steam controller only deal where the track pad is nearly impossible to play efficiently?

The Steam controller or normal Xbox-type controller should be fine.

I'm using a PS4 controller myself, I had a small problem with the bindings but Inputmapper was able to get me through that.

Once you've got a controller set up and working, the controls are actually really good in this. Whole interface works well with it.

I use an xbox 360 controller on my computer and it works like a charm. I mean i am bad at this kind of games, but i got to industrial on first try - that means i didnt have to fight the controller ;)

Its a free weekend, so give it a try - but this game looks really promising.

I'm having lots of trouble with a PS3 controller. Can't seem to move but can bind the buttons well. Havn't tried this inputmapper suggested above so i'll give it a look.

so far poor, can't get steam controller to be recognized as a controller - picks up a ps4 controller right away if i USB in...but steam controller doesn't work, steam overlay works, controller works with steam itself, but not with the game

Have you tried running Steam in admin mode?

sorry should have mentioned, on a Mac, tried steam in Beta mode and non Beta, running latest Sierra OS

Steam Controler doesnt recognized as controler. I think problem is that steam controler have touchpad and many games outside steam recognized it as MOUSE. I use standard PC with Win7. I try play with 2 friends (2 steam controlers). Doesnt work at all :/

The game is set up to recognize the Steam controller in the same way as an XBox pad. Is it really not being recognized at all when you press Assign Controller on the key bindings screen? Have you tried messing around with your Steam controller settings for this game? I know that the Steam controller is working for a lot of people, but there seem to be some who are still having these issues.

Oh I've looked at the settings, the assign button isn't clickable because the controller is not recognized. I can press the center steam button and the overlay comes up, I can even assign a controller config...but in game [not in overlay], in the settings, no controller is recognized, so I can't assign it. If I plug in a wired USB PS4 controller it's instantly recognized, and I started to play a little like that but I'd much rather use the Steam Controller wirelessly as I bought for the purpose of playing computer games.

The same for me. Game see XboX pad and i can assign it but when i connect Steam controller i didnt see it there and i can't assign it. I have problem only with this game and controller's. I hope u help to solve this issue. If u want any information about system or setting fell free to ask me here or priv.

I have been having an issue with the xbox360 controller. After a minute or two of gameplay I am no longer able to interact with anything in the game world. the A button does nothing, my character passes through the NPCs like a ghost and I am unable to interact with the environment in any way ( opening doors for instance) but the gamepad buttons still work in the menus and such. Any suggestions?

It handles xbox controllers well. Steam controllers work ok as long as there's an xbox controller. It seems they need to be Player 2 for some reason. I can't seem to One-player with the Steam Controller.
