More games like Quern?
I compare every game to Quern, and of all the games I've played, I would say that this is the best escape/puzzle type game I have every played, even better than Myst/Riven/Myst III. Those were good, though! As was Obduction. But I feel like there aren't a whole lot of games even close. Eyes of Aura, Escape World Dilemma, Aporia, and The Room were good, but not great like Quern. There is an internet escape game by Neutral called Elements that probably has the most interesting puzzles of all internet based escape games. But if yall have any suggestions, plz comment here. I would love another one like Quern.

If you like this genre because of puzzles, make sure you check out the Rhem series. I am sure I played all the Myst-like games out there, and in terms of creative and difficult puzzles nothing comes close to Rhem games (including Quern and Riven). All four Rhem games are available on Steam and each one offers 20+ hours of gameplay full of mind-bending puzzles.

However, if you like these games because of story and graphics then you might want to look at other games. Rhem games have almost no story and visual design is very minimal.
It's the puzzles I like. ok I'll do Rhem next then. Right now I'm working on Aura, and it's puzzly.
If you like puzzles as I do, then try anything Detalion made. Reah: Face The Unkown, Schizm: Mysterious Journey, Schizm 2: Chameleon, Sentinel: Descendants in Time (also called Realms of Illusion), and recently Schizm 3: Nemezis.

I'm playing them in order. I'm on Schizm 1 and it's probably the hardest MYST-like I've ever played, but great fun too.

Glad to hear that. Aura 1 and 2 are also a lot of fun too.

Yes I second that. Reah and Schizm 1 are especially awesome. The other games are also good, I also like Schizm 2 a lot.
The House of Da Vinci series are puzzle box rooms. Take a look

Not as great as Quern but still good (apart from those mentioned earlier):
Myha: Return to the Lost Island
Riddle of the Sphinx
Obsidian
Alida
Morpheus
Amerzone
Zork Nemesis
Rama
And will be available soon NEYYAH
If you didn't already know about this, I'll mention that Cyan Worlds, who did Obduction and the Myst series, have a new one coming out supposedly 1Q 2023, Firmament.

Oh wow thank you!!!! I can't wait! I'm working though Rhem 2 and thi i ooooo hard. my cccc button int working. ok I look forward to it, thank you!
AntiChamber... not so much story but fun puzzles, return of the Obra Dinn, Obduction was fun indeed.
Of course The Portal Series but more involvement than Quern or myst.
Havent played Unfinished Swan but heard that was a good tale.
Talos Principal is good as said
The Witness... but there is also something called 'The Looker' which may be fun... play off of 'The Witness'
and maybe The Void
I didn't like Talos Principal. It's not as good as Quern.

The new Kings Quest is pretty good. High quality like Quern with beautiful environments. It's way easier though.

Also try Operencia The Stolen Sun. Different kind of game but has a first person exploration Quern like vibe.

The Talos Principle is more like Portal, but less linear. You have a handful of mechanics and a large number of puzzle rooms which involve those mechanics.

The Witness is somewhere between a Portal-like and a Myst-like.

Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn are mysteries. Neither has puzzle machinery, although Obra Dinn is a bit like a logic puzzle; it's fundamentally about putting names to faces. You get to see all of the events, but you have to report all of the events using names and the people involved aren't wearing name tags. Outer Wilds is mostly about exploring places (not all of which are straightforward to get into) and reading messages left by a long-dead race. Some of those will help you find places you might not have otherwise found.
I can recomend Xing. I enjoyed it a lot. It's also an environmental puzzler, a bit on the easier side compared to the others, with very relaxing vibes.

Another similar game, although more mystoid than Quern-like:

Rama

Has anyone tried this, please? I'm a big fan of the book "Rendezvous with Rama" by Arthur C. Clarke, as well as the other books. Fascinating sci-fi!

I see it's available for free here: https://www.myabandonware.com/game/rama-3p8

It's been a while since I played a DOS game, though, which is making me sweat a bit just thinking about getting it to work properly  Is it worth giving it a go?

Also been waiting for the Rama movie, which seems to have been stuck in 'development hell' for years now. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0134933/

I was almost hoping for a Rama-like craft entering our solar system a few years ago (6 years already! :goalastonished:), when this object appeared, if anyone remembers that!

Anyway, would be nice to know if the Rama game is worth downloading and getting to work! :lunar2019smilingpig:
