I'm playing them in order. I'm on Schizm 1 and it's probably the hardest MYST-like I've ever played, but great fun too.
Glad to hear that. Aura 1 and 2 are also a lot of fun too.
Yes I second that. Reah and Schizm 1 are especially awesome. The other games are also good, I also like Schizm 2 a lot.
Myha: Return to the Lost Island
Riddle of the Sphinx
Obsidian
Alida
Morpheus
Amerzone
Zork Nemesis
Rama
And will be available soon NEYYAH
Of course The Portal Series but more involvement than Quern or myst.
Havent played Unfinished Swan but heard that was a good tale.
Talos Principal is good as said
The Witness... but there is also something called 'The Looker' which may be fun... play off of 'The Witness'
and maybe The Void
The new Kings Quest is pretty good. High quality like Quern with beautiful environments. It's way easier though.
Also try Operencia The Stolen Sun. Different kind of game but has a first person exploration Quern like vibe.
The Witness is somewhere between a Portal-like and a Myst-like.
Outer Wilds and Return of the Obra Dinn are mysteries. Neither has puzzle machinery, although Obra Dinn is a bit like a logic puzzle; it's fundamentally about putting names to faces. You get to see all of the events, but you have to report all of the events using names and the people involved aren't wearing name tags. Outer Wilds is mostly about exploring places (not all of which are straightforward to get into) and reading messages left by a long-dead race. Some of those will help you find places you might not have otherwise found.

Has anyone tried this, please? I'm a big fan of the book "Rendezvous with Rama" by Arthur C. Clarke, as well as the other books. Fascinating sci-fi!
I see it's available for free here: https://www.myabandonware.com/game/rama-3p8
It's been a while since I played a DOS game, though, which is making me sweat a bit just thinking about getting it to work properly
Also been waiting for the Rama movie, which seems to have been stuck in 'development hell' for years now. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0134933/
I was almost hoping for a Rama-like craft entering our solar system a few years ago (6 years already!

Anyway, would be nice to know if the Rama game is worth downloading and getting to work!
