Is it worth buying after the 4.0 update?

I am hearing a lot of mixed opinions about how people feel about this game after the newest update. Some seem to love it and others seem upset about changes that have been made. Just wanted to ask before I buy and see what people who have the game think. I have a couple friends I love playing Phasmophobia with and I think I could get them on board to play this with me if it looks promising. The pvp aspect looks interesting too.

For longer players who are unsatisfied with the game currently, do the devs seem like a team who will try and address the issues players are having? How much do they listen and communicate with players?

As one of the developers, I can say that the number of positive recent reviews has increased from 71% to 87% after the update. This means that the update was completely successful.

But now we have a certain number of bugs in the game, for example, problems with button bindings or joining a lobby.
Some people are unhappy with such problems, but we have a small team (2 programmers) to fix it all instantly.
Despite this we are in the process of fixing these issues. There have already been 3 hotfixes released in 2 weeks.

Feedback - right in the game there is a button with a form that you can fill out and give us any suggestions or report a bug

PHASMOPHOBIA PLAYER HERE -- My friends and I LOVE playing Bigfoot now. Still learning and just discovered how to get the alien ship to come. Have lots more to learn and more ways to play. Much better than older version. Like being able to be Bigfoot as well as playing against AI.

It's finally the game it should've been and can only get better from here with it's solid foundation. Really hope they keep adding content to keep it fresh like Dead by Daylight and not let it die like the dozen or so other asymmetrical horror games.

I also want a mode where you can play as bigfoot and not a hunter where you can just hunt on animals trash houses and walk around cassually as bigfoot! (singleplayer)

but yeah i find it worth it to buy and play the game its my favorite game now!
so keep up the good work!


btw is there such mode coming or not?

Don't meta game or try to cheat. There are some things you can do to make the AI not know what to do. Play it fair n square, team vs Bigfoot and it's tons of fun. Qe haven't killed him yet but tonight we will!

I would recommend you do not if you have any intention on having an actual person play as Bigfoot. A competent human against 4 human hunters always wins. No matter what he can just hit them over and over again until they are out of Ammo. Totally unbalanced game.

true, if you play as bigfoot you have to be like a 'dungeon master' and try to RP as bigfoot and hunt them just like big foot would...hit em, run and hide. attack at night and run away. your basically the entertainment

This version is a MASSIVE improvement, I can't wait for the other maps. There are still a couple of bugs with keybindings like no reload key, but over all its balanced well.

One the tactics I used right off was to look for locations in the day and hunker down at night, usually using the ranger cabin or building with only 1 way in. Set a couple traps and explosive if you have them and keep the flare gun handy. I was able to win my first game on Easy setting on the hotfix5 version solo. I missed the first release and didn't catch it till the patch 5 was already released. Some ways I am glad as I had a better gaming experience with the fixes.

One neat thing I would LOVE to see is BF throw Trash Cans and flip the cars. Also I really hope they DO NOT BRING BACK TRACKING BULLETS, They don't exist for real and feel like a cheat, footprints would be ok though. I WOULD love to see the Main Trailer be able to be flipped also. lol

Probably a little late, but the game was VASTLY improved with the 4.0 update! If you're at all interested, there hasn't been a better time to play. The map looks way better, as well as all of the character and Bigfoot models. More weapons, and items, and overall just a much better experience. You can play with up to 4 of your friends against an AI Bigfoot, 4 friends vs. a player controlled Bigfoot, and you can also play solo vs AI Bigfoot.
