how to transfer units.
I got a new gaming PC, its so much better and faster than my old laptop, however, all my units are gone, as are my maps, factions, battles, and campeigns,
how do i recover all these lost units? using my old pc is impossible due to it braking and not turning on, tho i do still have it just in case i can fix it.

if you can fix your PC enough for it to turn on (or if you have done this already) upload all your factions, maps, units, campaigns etc. Then on your Laptop, find them, and download a customisable copy to your custom content.

that would take ages, id rather just transfer it, i swear you could acsess the custom content files in the past but i can't anymore
You still can, you have to right click on TABS in the steam menu and hit browse local files, then there should be a custom content folder.

figured it out, haven't made any custom units yet cause just reinstalled, made one and it fixed it, but still don't have my old units and stuff

Right, here's what you do:
Go to %appdata% folder on your OLD computer - not the new one. You should be able to do this by clicking the windows button (just assuming you're on a windows - if not there should be another way to find it) and typing it into the search bar
If TABS is open while you do this (make sure it is) then you should see the TABS data in the %appdata% folder. Now, plug in a hard drive or thumbdrive into your old computer and drag the TABS data onto that folder.
Then, go to your new computer and plug in the thumbdrive. Drag the TABS data from the tumbdrive, or leave it plugged in, et voilà! You should be all good. This exact same thing happened to me and this is what I did to fix it.
Best of luck! :praisesun::praisesun::praisesun:

You would need to access the hard drive on your old laptop in order to transfer the units since they are only saved locally on your computer (unless you've manually uploaded them to the in-game workshop).

Your custom creations are stored in the game installation folder (Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator_Data > CustomContent). You would have to transfer the CustomContent folder from the old computer to the new one, if you can find a way to start your old laptop.
