I can't see my custom units
Custom content is stuck on loading and units are not visible
This issue usually happens if you download or subscribe to a unit in the workshop that needs community-made mods in order to work. If you don't have the necessary mods, your custom content might get bugged.

These steps usually also work if you are getting stuck on "copying", "saving" or "refreshing custom content".

First check the workshop to make sure you're not currently subscribed to a unit that might require mods, like animals or vehicle units (also remember to check campaigns that might include modded units). Then try these steps:

Windows:
  1. Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
  2. Type appdata into the prompt that appears and click OK
  3. Navigate to LocalLow/Landfall Games
  4. Remove the folder called “Totally Accurate Battle Simulator” and then start the game to see if your units are visible
Before deleting the folder, you can make a backup of your save files. Your campaign progress should be saved in Steam Cloud already, but make a copy of the “Saved” folder if you want to make sure nothing is lost:
C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\LocalLow\Landfall Games\Totally Accurate Battle Simulator\Saved

If you are playing on Microsoft Store or the Xbox App on PC, also make a backup of the CustomContent folder! Your custom units, battles and maps are stored here and will be removed in the process. Copy the folder and put it back after you've restarted the game.

Mac:
  1. Press CMD+Shift+G from the desktop or a Finder window and paste the following: ~/Library/Application Support
  2. Find the folder called "com.Landfall.TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator" and delete it. Then start the game and see if your custom units are visible.
Before deleting the folder, you can make a backup of your save files. Your campaign progress should be saved in Steam Cloud already, but make a copy of the “Saved” folder if you want to make sure nothing is lost:
~/Library/Application Support/com.Landfall.TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator/Saved

Units are duplicating
This usually happens if you have downloaded an editable copy of a modded unit to your Custom Content. If there is a unit that is duplicating itself and that can't be deleted in-game, you can remove it from the game files instead:

Windows (Steam):
  1. Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator_Data > CustomContent > CustomUnits.
  2. Inside CustomUnits there should be one folder for each unit that you've created/downloaded, with a picture of the unit inside the folder. Find the unit you wish to remove and delete its folder.
Windows (Microsoft Store):
  1. Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
  2. Type appdata into the prompt that appears and click OK
  3. Navigate to LocalLow/Landfall Games/Totally Accurate Battle Simulator/CustomContent/CustomUnits
  4. Inside CustomUnits there should be one folder for each unit that you've created/downloaded, with a picture of the unit inside the folder. Find the unit you wish to remove and delete its folder.
Mac (Steam):
  1. Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > Right-click on TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator > Show Package Contents > Contents > CustomContent > CustomUnits.
  2. Inside CustomUnits there should be one folder for each unit that you've created/downloaded, with a picture of the unit inside the folder. Find the unit you wish to remove and delete its folder.
