Help! I lost all my custom units
so I just reinstalled tabs on my computer and I checked my custom content, all my battles, factions, units and campaigns are gone.
Is there any way to reverse this, I want all my units back because they all took me a lot of experimentation.

steam does warn you it will remove all content from the game when you uninstal it, i dont think there is a way to reverse it.

That's weird, I have uninstalled the game before and it kept all my stuff. Sometimes the units won't show up for me though, I don't know why that's the case but keep playing the game and do different things like clicking back in forth in the custom content menu and they might show.

I have this exacted problem When I was planning tabs and I had this custom units against this other custom unit and I was gonna fix one of them but when I was gonna do it the game crashed and I thought "huh that's weird so I went back on it and all of my custom content was gone.

If you reinstalled the game on a different hard drive, then you need to manually transfer your custom units from one drive to the other. If you reinstalled Steam or Windows, the units were likely removed in the process.

Also, there is a bug where sometimes your custom units aren't visible in the game, even though they are still in the game files. You can start by checking if your custom units are visible here: Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator_Data > CustomContent > CustomUnits.

Inside CustomUnits there should be one folder for each unit you have created, with a picture on the unit inside the folder. Can you see your units here?

thank you for responding. I was unable to find any of my custom unit in the custom content folder. If I recall correctly, I cleared my steam cache ages ago to fix the installation of a different game and since I had tabs unistalled at that time, then, it's likely possible that it deleted my customunits. Unfortunate situation but it could be worse.

You can make a backup of the CustomContent folder if you want to make sure no units are lost in the future :) You can also upload your units to the in-game workshop to save them online.

You can try the steps here under "I can't see my custom units" and see if it helps:
