However, your custom units are only saved locally and not in the cloud. You can either upload them to the in-game workshop to save them online, or make a backup of your CustomContent folder to keep your units and battles safe in case something happens.
The CustomContent folder can be found here: Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator_Data > CustomContent.
If you check your game files, can you see your units there?
Right-click on TABS in your Steam Library > Manage > Browse local files > TotallyAccurateBattleSimulator_Data > CustomContent > CustomUnits. Inside CustomUnits there should be one folder for each unit that you've created/downloaded, with a picture of the unit inside the folder. Are you able to see your units here?
