however i think that must be a large amount of work and they have biggir priorities at the moment.
That is a massive shame, i think many of us thought that physics system and dueling system and basic commands would have been a real step up for the game and was what i personally was looking forward to, it looked much better, and added far more tactical options. i hope you decide to re-look at is and try implement it in the game
The parrying was really amazing though. Are is that not coming back soon? That was really fun to watch
It was fun in the videos posted but when we playtested the game it wasn't fun to watch anymore which is why it got scrapped. With the 2.0 system the game kind of lost it soul and personality which we tried to bring back in the 3.0 system :)
How so? How was a better system less fun to watch? I will be honest the derpines is funny the first few times you see it, but the actual epic fencing was a lot more entertaining for me even looking back at it now. Now all the mellee units feel like they act the same just with different health values and hitboxes. The sword dont even hit static targets half the time.
Out of curiosity: Was this ever discussed with the community or was that just the developers personal feelings on the matter (not saying you have to ask the community, it´s your game, still wondering)?
It was less fun, it was hard to see what was happening in bigger fights when the units were dodging and parrying. It looked cool for about ten seconds in a 1v1 fight which is what we showed in the videos but not in bigger battles which is what people usually do Most of all the game just lost its soul and it wasn't funny or interesting (this is, of course, hard to judge from only videos where we use the funniest/coolest takes).
That being said we're looking into maybe creating a unit that has some of the cool stuff from fencing we showed in the past.
We didn't discuss this with the community per se but we saw a lot of comments about the 2.0 system being boring and not TABS, I do understand that there are two sides to each coin though :)
And looking back under your video of v2.0 the top voted comments are calling it great or amazing and the newer ones are asking why you didn´t go with that system.
Again, no offence, as it is your choice, but it doesn´t seem very logical to me. Out of curiosity: Are there any videos of mass fights under version 2.0 somehwere online to watch for comparrison?
