Anyone else think secret units kinda suck
I don't get the point.

Now, this might be fun for some hypothetical person who buys the game once it's out of early access. Then they can have a game of many units in the factions, aswell as many maps bursting with dozens of secret units.

But for me, every couple of months I just have to go on a boring scavenger hunt or just look up the guides. I just want to play with the secret units. And now they are all added in this random folder I have to click through instead of being with their actual factions.

I think secret units should be removed. They should just be added directly into the factions roster when they come out. The secret folder tab should leave as well. Maybe after its out of early access and someone buys the game fresh, all the secret units can be in their hiding places. But to me, someone who plays the game as it is being developed, it just tacks on an extra 15 minutes of boredom before I get to play around.

I do agree that the secret folder is a bit unweildy, it is getting far to long to keep scrolling through it to find the specific unit. It would be nice if these units were put into their own factions. However there are a few units that don't really fit into any faction, like the Cheerleader which I suspect was part of Modern but was implemented anyways even after that faction was scrapped, and the Wheelbarrow Dragon is which both farmer and Dynasty. But units like those could stay secret and the other go into their own factions just to keep the folders all a good size. Secret could just be joke or oddball units like how it was in the old days with Chicken Man, Chicken Man Man and political units.

You could argue that then some faction tabs would be much larger than others, as it is they all have 7 units and if the secrets were put in then factions like farmer and Tribal would be tiny compared to the others. So? Whats wrong with some tabs being slightly larger than others? Its better than having one humongous tab.

I don't think they should be removed though, they are pretty neat.yeah, looking up a guide is a little annoying but not too bad.

Some people like to search for secrets.

Hi! We agree that the secret folder is a bit hard to navigate, we will solve that, especially since the unit creator will ensure there are lots more units.

The Secret units don't have factions they're supposed to be in, even if some are on the same theme as some of the factions. The factions are better developed and balanced units that are supposed to work in the campaigns and against other factions, the secret units are not.

I'll bring this up with our game-designers, maybe we can have some kind of cheat code/option to let players get all secrets when we go out of Early Access.

Cheerleaders feel tribal-y, but idk. Wheelbarrow dragons are dynasty, as farmers were not the only culture with wheelbarrows.

Thank you for responding and giving me good reasoning. Whatever you do I trust your judgement

In my opinion, secret units ought to be put into their respective factions. We can't go on putting them all into one massive folder, they should be additions to the factions they're themed after. As for this not being "balanced," the dev team has forgotten to make the game totally accurate, and is going off and doing things inaccurate to history. Like putting the fan bearers in a different tab than the ancient faction. I've been alive for the last 2000 years, and I personally know from when I was a child that Caesar's fan bearer legion was loved and greatly feared by all who dared to oppose the Roman Empire.

Seriously though. This game is intended to be a wacky game, and the devs are taking it more seriously than they should. Going for balance is removing fun features from everything else, or removing it entirely (Like the Modern faction).

Why couldn't we group them into sepeperate factions such as Farmer: Secret or Dynasty: Secret? and Keep The Ones That don't really fit into a faction in the secret units tab

The 10 main factions, 10 more factions for secret units, and 1 misc secret unit faction.

Actually your right... but why do you care how many factions there will be?

The more factions, the harder it will get to remember were every unit is. And the secret faction units should just go into a misc faction or in the base factions.

But botten hanna said that secret units would't fit in their factions Here's the quote:
