SteamVR Tracking HDK

SteamVR Tracking HDK

Loosing tracking after impact / high G force
3 Short questions

1. I'm currently testing a prototype of our controller using a vive tracker and it looses tracking after impacts. Is there a way to improve this performance?

2. Can I send a signal / message to Steam VR to set the host end to pairing mode?

3. Also is there any plan for the Steam VR tracking host (application getting the tracking data) to run on ARM?

For the first one: Isolate the IMU from shocks. It's not that the IMU reports the shock, it's that MEMS IMUs are physically oscillating internally, and shocks disrupt them for a long time.

Is there a recommended isolation mechanism for IMU in a custom controller? I'm not sure how much stiffness is required to avoid jitter but isolate from shocks.

As far as question 3 goes there are some people on the SteamVR developer page asking about lightweight / re-distributable libraries for tracking. I'd love to know if that's in the plan.
